It always takes me a few days to get back into the swing of things after traveling. We came home from Kentucky with so much gratitude and so much laundry!
We didn’t visit any Starbucks coffee shops while we were away, so we made sure to stop at one on the way home and it hit the spot! It was the perfect fuel for tackling the mountain of laundry I had to take care of 😉
Here are a few pictures from the rest of the week.
The weather has been on-and-off rainy. It has been great to get out when there’s a break in the rain! The leaves in Pittsburgh are at their peak for fall right now.
Sadie took my phone one morning and decided to snap a selfie with Malcolm. This was a very artsy shot 😂
I saw the above meme and was like yes! I mean, I like broccoli and kale, but I love bread. Challah, sourdough, cornbread, pumpkin bread… I like it all!
We had a divide and conquer night on Thursday. We desperately needed groceries–Sadie’s co-op lunch was pitiful that day–and had to pick up Niva from boarding. Jimmy took the kids to get Niva and I took his truck(!!) to get groceries.
Jimmy calls these shoes my “honey mustard shoes” because of their yellow-brown color. I am a honey mustard connoisseur, especially if there are soft pretzels involved, so I saw this as a compliment! I got a new pair of running shoes because my old ones were trashed and I’m *considering* running a road race next month. Eek!! These are the New Balance 1080. I used to mostly run in Brooks, but New Balance has been great, too. What brand(s) of shoes do you like?
Friday was the first day of the week with nothing on the agenda and it was glorious! We visited Jimmy at work and I did some baking.
We had some ripe bananas on hand so I made banana peanut butter muffins.
Saturday was a bit rainy, so I worked on a Thanksgiving lesson plan for the homeschool co-op we’re part of. I’m excited to see how all the kids like the books (this one for the older kids and this one for the preschoolers), crafts, and turkey yoga(!!!!) I have planned.
Sunday morning was filled with Niva snuggles. Sadie always says “I just love Niva! She’s so cute!” Niva has continued to be very good with both kids.
Mordecai wore his thrifted firetruck overalls and shirt to church on Sunday morning. Another outfit that seemed huge when I bought it while pregnant ðŸ˜
We brought Jimmy’s step sister to church with us and then she stayed over for the day and went to evening church with us. In the afternoon, we made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and a chocolate drizzle.
Mordecai spent Sunday afternoon alternating between trying to play with Niva’s dog dishes and crawling in cabinets.
And that brings us to a new week! We have school, Niva’s first training class (I’m so nervous!), and co-op on deck for the week.
So far this week I am trying to catch up with cleaning around our house. I’ll be spending time with grandkids 3 days this week. It’s the best to be able to see all of them in their homes and help the mama’s out by lending an extra hand.
Sunday we are going to the Steelers game with friends from church that so lovingly share their tickets 🙂
Love them pics! And the muffins & cupcakes look so good!
Love You
Dad

Those are some gorgeous running shoes!! Right now I’ve been gravitating towards hoka one one. I snagged a pair for $63 on mercari brand new!!
Thank you! There’s nothing like a fresh pair of running shoes.
$63 for new Hokas is *unheard of* and so amazing! My mom and dad run in Hokas and absolutely love them!
