May Family Night: Out to Eat

We’ve been keeping up with our monthly family nights pretty well this year! We missed April, but picked back up in May with a night out to eat.

We chose a random Tuesday night, booked reservations at a local restaurant, and off we went!

The above photo accurately sums up what it’s like to go out to eat with kids! Holding a grabby baby while entertaining an active four year old makes for a fun meal.

We went to eat at Firebirds in Pittsburgh and everyone enjoyed their meal! I got salmon, Jimmy ordered prime rib, Sadie had mac and cheese, and Mordecai sucked on a piece of fruit.

Afterwards, we walked across the parking lot to a local milkshake shop for dessert.

Everyone was in a happy mood and we hung out for a bit before walking by a green space where Sadie played for a few minutes.

We snapped some pictures outside and then headed to the store to grab a few items.

Sadie scored some bouncy balls and she was so happy to play with her new little treasure. I love that she is content with and appreciates the smallest things. Niva had a blast with the bouncy balls, too 😂

All in all, it was a great evening! Our monthly family nights help me to remember that while parenting is hard work, these people are my favorite people in the whole wide world and I love spending time with them.

When was the last time you went out to eat?

Do you have a go-to food you order when going out to eat?

Hmmm, we haven’t eaten out in a little while, but we are going to Maine in a few weeks. So fried seafood or lobster rolls will be on the next eat-out menu, for sure! Ha, ha. 🙂
