Fairy Hair, The Girls, and Hitting the Mark

I’ve had a drone stuck in my hair before, but I’ve never had a fairy stuck in my hair… until yesterday.

Fairy sticker in girls hair

Jimmy, Sadie, and I were driving home from the hospital for my hematologist appointment and I felt something weird in my hair. Turns out Sadie wanted to give me a fairy sticker from her reusable sticker set.

Fairy hair aside, the hematologist appointment went well. I’m going to have five IV iron infusions over the next few weeks. After the appointment, Jimmy went back to work and Niva had a husky friend over.

Little girl with two Siberian huskies

Since Runah, Niva, and Sadie are all girls, I’m always referring to the trio as “the girls.” Two of the three girls caught and killed a bird in the yard. I think you can guess which two 😉

I also worked on an Etsy brownie order, and then practiced archery with my new bow and arrows! We set up a cardboard box in the yard and I finally hit it! Poor Jimmy thought something was wrong when I called him. Nope, I just called to (very excitedly) tell him I hit the target 😂

The Christian life is a lot like archery. We need to practice in order to hit the target. Sometimes we don’t hit the mark, but we can’t give up. We just have to collect our arrows and keep trying. Philippians 3:13-14 reminds me of that!

Our God is a God of love and forgiveness and he doesn’t expect perfection. What a relief! He just wants us to try our best to hit the target. Sorry for the deep/random archery thoughts, but I have bows and arrows on my brain lately 😊

Do you enjoy metaphors?

What are your favorite hobbies?

  1. I am a HUGE lover of metaphors! I told Rachel recently that I definitely bring my “blogger style” to my worship leading, forever sharing tidbits of what God has taught me through mom life or experiences when I’m leading at church. I think we can learn SO much about God’s love through the world around us, when we compare it to the Word and see the similarities.
Photography, baking, and music are definitely my favorites! Although just hanging out with my family and enjoying nature is a huge love of mine lately too, so I’m counting it as a hobby! Ha, ha.
Love the fairy hair. 🙂 One time I went to the grocery store with two small pom poms stuck in my hair, and I had NO idea until I got home!
I’m so glad your appointment went well. 🙂

    1. I love that you bring your blogging style to worship leading! I’m sure everyone there benefits as much as everyone who reads your blog! I always leave encouraged and smiling after I finish reading one of your blog posts 🙂

You are so skilled at all of your hobbies!! I agree that hanging with family and being in nature are totally hobbies 🙂

LOL at the pom pom in your hair at the grocery store. That made me laugh!

  2. I grew up in a family of ministers so connecting normal life things to faith through metaphors is like second nature. Love your points about archery. Congrats on hitting the cardboard!!

  3. I’m glad the hematologist appointment went well. Hope the treatments boost your iron and don’t make you feel too tired immediately post-treatment.

Not quite the same as getting something stuck in my hair but I once went to the garage to speak to them about getting my car repaired. It was only *after* I’d spoken to them and was back in my car that I looked in the rearview mirror to check before reversing and realised I had a cocoa powder splodge on my forehead 😂 I think I must have gotten some on my hand after drinking a cappuccino, pushed my hair back and transferred it without realising haha.
