I can remember a few favorites throughout the years: Corduroy, The Little Engine That Could, anything Clifford or Berenstain Bears and The Amazing Days of Abby Hayes book series during my preteen years. I also remember looking at a picture book about naked mole rats almost every night before bed with my mom and brother ๐
How do you take your coffee or tea? I’m more of a coffee girl, and I have it with a generous splash of half and half. For tea, I pretty much drink it straight on the rare occasion I have it!

Do you prefer baths or showers? Showers. I had surgery to repair a deviated septum after a car accident in 2009 and had to take baths for a bit afterwards. I remember being in so much pain and feeling nauseous and I think that ruined baths for me.
What is your favorite item of clothing? My rain boots. They’re pink and bright and happy!

Are you a restless sleeper? No, unless I’m really worked up about something. My hearing isn’t the best, so I am rarely woken up by noises. Jimmy always asks me if I heard thunder, Sadie crying, the pets playing, etc. in the night and I’m like uhh… no?!
Tell about an early childhood memory. I remember being in kindergarten and sitting at my desk while the teacher handed out a math paper and I couldn’t even think of how to do it. Aaaaand that started my struggle with math throughout my school years ๐
How would you spend your ideal day? I would start with coffee and my Bible on the front porch and take a trail walk with Jimmy, Sadie, and Niva. Then I’d love to do something fun like browse around a book store, leisurely grocery shop for dinner that evening, or go thrifting. An afternoon nap, grilling outside for dinner, and having a bonfire with my little family to cap off the day would be perfect ๐

What is your favorite food? This is a tough question! It’s probably a tie between peanut butter, cornbread, and salmon. So random, right?

Do you collect anything? I have a lot of books on childbirth, midwifery, and pregnancy. I also have a ton of buttons in all sorts of colors. I used to make art with them, but now Sadie likes to play with ’em.
What are you reading right now? I just finished Carnegie’s Maid, which was a total page-turner for me because the story is based in Pittsburgh. Now I’m onto Waiting for Birdy.
What is your favorite memory? After mine and Jimmy’s wedding we were just giddy with excitement and left for our honeymoon that night. We stopped at a gas station once we left the reception and got coffee and snacks for the drive and I just remember being so excited to start our journey in life together!
Ah, your perfect day sounds really wonderful. ๐ Also, totally with you on paper books over digital.
Well, I answered them all… hahaha

Tell about an early childhood memory. I vividly remember riding in the back of my Grandpa’s pickup truck with my cousins with loads of potatoes that he had planted, and recently dug up. They were all dirty, but we loved it! He would let us help him clean them off with his hose (sort of).
