Sunday Coffee Date

It’s time for a Sunday coffee date post! So, grab your coffee (or tea?!) of choice and let’s talk as though we were sitting together for a drink ๐Ÿ˜Šย

If we were having coffee right now… I’d order a grande-sized drink because it’s been a crazy couple of weeks for us. Sadie was scheduled to have an upper and lower scope done at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh this past week but it had to be canceled at the last minute because she woke up with a cold and they didn’t want any complications while she was under anesthesia.ย

So, we’re still playing the waiting game on figuring out what’s up with her belly. She had more blood drawn on Friday and it was not a good experience like last time. She had to have five tubes of blood drawn and they had to poke both of her arms. She was screaming “this hurts me” and I just felt completely helpless. We both cried that day. Thankfully my mom came with us to Children’s Hospital and was there for moral support!ย Unfortunately the bloodwork came back abnormal again so we’re just praying for answers when she has the scopes done next month.

If we were having coffee right now… I would admit that I took Niva on a car ride solely for the purpose of her eating all the crumbs in and around Sadie’s carseat ๐Ÿ˜†ย

If we were having coffee right now… I would tell you that Sadie missed out on church this morning (stuffy nose queen over here ๐Ÿ˜‚) but we made the best of being at home and did a Bible lesson on Noah’s ark.ย

I just grabbed one of her books about Noah’s ark, we acted it out with her toys, colored together, and talked about the lesson.ย

If we were having coffee right now... I would ask how the weather is where you live. I’ve been hearing about the crazy weather across the U.S. and the impact it has had on states that don’t usually get cold, snowy weather. When there’s a natural disaster or people are suffering, we like to donate to this mission

If we were having coffee right now… I would tell you that the mom’s group at my church is starting back up next month and I get to do the first devotional! I have really been enjoying the extra time spent in my Bible studying for this.ย

What would you want to talk about if we were having coffee together?

  1. If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you how much I have been praying for our little Sadie Mae, and for you and Jimmy as her parents. My heart just breaks when I think of her in any kind of pain or discomfort. If there is something I can do to help, I will. Whether just to comfort you guys, or if there is anything I can do to help her condition, I will. You guys mean the world to me, and I love you with all of my heart.
P.s. – the clean car sear idea with Niva is genius ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. Oh I’m so sorry about the blood work not being easy. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Kaitlyn needs blood work done to test for a peanut allergy, and she screamed SO bad last time that they weren’t able to get the blood they needed. So we need to go back. I cried as well. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Those moments are SO hard on a mama’s heart!
I’ll be praying for Sadie Mae and that she be touched by God’s healing hands. Praying that the doctors find out what’s going on and that the answer be a simple one.

    1. Ugh. I am so sorry Kaitlyn needs blood work done. It is just awful seeing them in pain and afraid. I’ll be praying it goes better when you guys go back! Thank you for praying for Sadie! โค

  3. Oh no!! I’m so sorry to hear this experience with the blood draw was so much worse. Sending all the hugs. Praying for you all as you wait! โค

  4. Oh poor Sadie, I’m so sorry to hear the blood tests were traumatic for you both. It must have been so hard, especially as she’s so little and it’s difficult for her to understand why it’s happening. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I hope that you get answers soon.

Did you get any of the winter storms in Pittsburgh? My Pilates teacher is in Texas at the moment — she usually lives in the UK but has moved back to Texas to be with her dad while he has cancer treatment. So I emailed her to check in and luckily their power stayed on through the storms. It sounds crazy though!

After the week of snow we had, the weather here has turned warm and spring-like. I’m really enjoying it! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yes! The hardest part was that I couldn’t explain that the horrible experience was truly for her own good. Poor girl!

I think Texas got the worst of the winter storms! We got a few inches of snow, but nothing too crazy. I heard Texas sadly had to have water boil advisories and many people lost power. I hope all was okay for your pilates teacher! Glad she didn’t lose power through the storms ๐Ÿ™‚

      Yay for the warmer weather!
