See that face? That’s the face of a girl with no more cast and a new dress form the thrift store. A sleeveless dress that I actually got to wear in November because it was close to 80 degrees today!
Cue the happy dance! I went to my follow-up appointment with an orthopedic doctor for my hand and he said he thinks my bone is just severely bruised.
He said I could have my hand in a splint or just have it bare as long as I take it easy. So, I’m a castaway! That thing went straight in the garbage 😉 I’m definitely still in some pain, but so excited to be free!
Sadie says hello!
She was enjoying being barefoot when I took this picture. The poor girl has been having a tough week so far. She has been fussy and clingy I can’t figure out if she’s getting her two-year molars, has an ear infection, or is just feeling off. Poor gal.
Is anyone else getting super excited for Thanksgiving? Now that we’re in the double digits of November I’m in Thanksgiving mode! We’re going to have a family Thanksgiving night with just Jimmy, Sadie, and I the week before the actual holiday and I can’t wait.
Are there any recipes that you make for Thanksgiving or fall in general? I’d love to hear about them!
Here are a few of my favorites:
That’s great you don’t have to wear a cast! Hopefully your hand heals quickly
Soo glad I don’t have to wear it anymore!! Thanks for sending healing vibes my way 🙂
Yay so glad to hear that you don’t have to wear the cast anymore!! Sadie is so adorable ❤
Mmm cornbread and pumpkin soup do sound good. Due to digestive issues and food intolerances, my diet is quite limited, but I’ve been loving roasted pumpkin, roasted sweet potato, and homemade nut milk (with cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg, so good!!).
Thank you, Niques!! I am so sorry I haven’t replied to your email yet. Life has been crazy over here, haha.
All the roasted veggies sound so delicious, as does homemade nut milk! That is right up my alley 🙂
Glad to hear you’re able to have the cast taken off. I hope it heals quickly.
I love warming soups and stews for the colder weather. I made a Greek potato and feta stew on Monday (using this recipe: https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/mar/06/whipped-feta-potato-stew-anna-jones-recipes-from-greece) and a soup with vegetables and mixed beans last night.
Thank you, Grace!! Me too!
I am going to look at that recipe right now. We got some snow today, and it seems like we’re officially in “soup season” 🙂
I’m so glad that cast is gone — but I’m also hoping your pain goes away! The weather here for the past few days was insanely gorgeous, and I LOVE that we were all still in shorts and tshirts! Not quite normal for Pittsburgh – key word above — “were”. As suspected we will have a cool down for the coming weeks. Oh well, fall is beautiful. I am pretty much a plain Jane as far as Thanksgiving, I just like sticking to the basics as my Mom and Grandma always did. Me and my traditions! I’m just SUPER excited our whole family will be together 🙂
Love you beautiful mama,
Madre
ME TOO!! Fall really is so beautiful here in Pittsburgh 🙂
I am so excited for Thanksgiving this year ❤ I love you!
YAY for getting that cast off!!!! That dress is SO cute!
Sooo happy! And thank you!
I’m so far behind that I didn’t realize you were in a cast! I’m so glad you are out of it now, though!
Haha no worries! So glad that thing is gonzo!
