Current book I just finished studying Psalms and I’m almost done with My Life as An Amish Wife by Lena Yoder and it’s so cute. A great read on Amish life.

My Life as An Amish Wife: A Diary by Lena Yoder book on Amish Life

Current prayer For our anatomy scan to go well and find baby healthy and growing. The appointment is today and we are super excited!

Current beauty product Micellular water. I actually just ran out of it and you should see the makeup around my eyes right now. I ought to send Jimmy out to get a new bottle ASAP because I don’t think I should be seen in public with these raccoon eyes 😉

Current blessing My sister. She is one amazing girl. I feel incredibly blessed that we talk every day and are so close. I wish we lived closer. We totally have dreams of living on a joint farm one day, haha.

Current craving A date night with Jimmy!

Current song Fear Is a Liar by Zach Williams. Always nodding my head along when I hear this on the radio. Such a great reminder!

Current obsession Walking Lola and Mavis to a creek by our house. Jimmy came with us over the weekend and it was so fun! I’m thankful the weather seems to be staying warm here in the ‘Burgh!

Current confession I’m baking my father-in-law’s wedding cake this weekend and I’m very nervous! Like what if something goes wrong?! I’m sure it will be fine, but I’m feeling the (self-imposed) pressure as the day gets closer. I am excited for the actual wedding celebration, though 🙂

Current need Possibly a new washing machine. I think ours bit the dust, but Jimmy is looking at it as I type up this post, so maybe he can fix it?! He is so handy with cars, plumbing, DIY projects, repairs, etc. and I never ceased to be amazed with how he repairs things that I thought were done for!

Current food Orange chicken. I’ve been working on perfecting this recipe and I had my sister taste test it this weekend (so not just Jimmy and I approve of it haha) and she said it was great! I think it’s time to share here on the blog. What do you guys think?

Current goal Finishing writing my book. I’m a few chapters away from being done with the first draft!

Current procrastination Buying Mother’s Day gifts. I know what I want to get our moms, I just need to buy the gifts. That’s probably what I will be up to after I finish this post! What are you doing/gifting for Mother’s Day?

Current excitement Jimmy is almost finished making our bed!

  1. Currently praying for your anatomy scan!
Currently totally hating crutches and being injured.
Currently loving my children so much (well, that’s been for the past 29 1/2 years 😂) ~ dad and I pray for each of you and your spouses every morning during our devotion time. I’m so thankful and feel so blessed with all 3 of you and the choices you’ve made in your lives.
    Love you beautiful girl~
    Madre ♥️

    1. Thank you for the prayers! I’m sorry you have been struggling with your injury and crutches. I know you will be healed up and back to normal soon! Thanks for always loving us kids, even when we’ve been cray cray 😉

I love you so much! ❤

  2. Currently procrastinating mother’s day gifts. Not even just buying but thinking of what to get them! One plus of living away from my family is that I think we’re seeing them over Memorial Day so I may get extra time to buy her a present. Alex’s mom is another story so we need to figure something out for her soon!

    1. For some reason, I always have a hard time with Mother’s Day gifts!! I feel like moms are hard to buy for because they mean so much to us, and we just want to get them something that shows that. But really, how do you show a mom just how special she is with one gift. It’s like they deserve SO much more. It’s tough! I hope you were able to find some great stuff!

  3. I hope the scan goes well and I hope that you guys can fix the washing machine. Ours went out just before Christmas a few years ago and that was crazy. Of course it died when we had TONS of laundry to do, too! Always how it goes.

You and Jimmy totally deserve a date night. Just go out for ice cream!

    1. I like the ice cream idea! I think I need to tell Jimmy that!

Thankfully the scan went well! I feel for ya with your washing machine breaking right before Christmas. Worst time for a big appliance to break!! You’re right, that’s always how it goes haha. We weren’t able to fix ours, but we did get a new one super cheap (like $300!!), so that was great!

      1. Yeah, we just got a new one. Sometimes that’s a better idea, especially since our old one was a hand-me-down from Clay’s parents when they got a new one.

    1. The scan was awesome!! It’s just amazing to see the baby! I think my next post (or the one after that!) will be the orange chicken recipe. It has been a favorite of ours as I’ve been testing and tweaking it!! Can’t wait to share 🙂

Sadly, Jimmy didn’t fix the washing machine but we did get a new one for about $300, so that was great!

  4. Currently? Preparing for a jury trial in the Geelong County Court next week, and going to the Melbourne County Court tomorrow to take judgment in another matter (the coffee-related case I tagged your blog in the other day). Oh, and trying to think of a suitably light-hearted Friday blogpost. Music for lawyers maybe? Hope the anatomy scan is all good news!

    1. Lots of court business going on for you! At least you got some good coffee out of it! Music for lawyers sounds like an awesome post idea!

The anatomy scan was great! All good news and a healthy baby! 🙂

  5. I’d love your Orange Chicken recipe! It looks yummy!

Fear is a Liar is such a good one! And I just saw Britt mentioned Reckless Love above… oh girl, you need to give that one a listen. It has been on repeat around here lately. Love it!

Your bed is looking awesome! Go Jimmy! And yay for almost being done with the first draft of your book. That’s so amazing! I’m so excited for you in this book writing process! 🙂

    1. I cannot wait to share the recipe for the orange chicken! It’s fairly simple and just so flavorful, if I do say so myself 😉

I definitely need to listen to Reckless Love ASAP!

Thanks for the compliments on our bed! We finally finished it! And by we, I totally mean Jimmy haha! Also, thank you so much for always supporting me in the book writing process! Your encouragement means so much to me!
