Jimmy and I have felt so cared for and blessed lately. Today marks the 19th week of this pregnancy, and we have been given some wonderful hand-me-downs that have our hearts so full! It’s also making things feel so real!
I saw my friend (and fellow blogger/vlogger), Kim on Saturday and she gifted me a huge box of baby clothes and a wrap from her kids, Annabelle and Jackson. I spent some time going through every item and was incredibly overwhelmed by her generosity.
Also, a friend at church asked Jimmy and I if we wanted a used stroller. We were totally on board and offered to buy it, but she just gave it to us. We unpacked the stroller on Sunday afternoon and were super excited about it and all the features. What a blessing. Also, seeing my husband get excited over a stroller totally made my day 🙂
These gifts have me wanting to give to others as much as we have been given to. It’s just amazing to see the ways in which God has provided for us lately (and always) and to reflect on that.
As for the sleepover, I spent the night at my parents’ house on Friday and had a blast hanging out with my mom and dad. Is that dorky to say? I don’t even care. I’m beyond thankful to have such a wonderful relationship with my parents.
My mom was able to feel baby kick on Friday night, which was surreal. Three generations just kicking back on the couch… literally, lol.
We hung out with our dogs (I brought Mavis along), went shopping for maternity clothes, my mom braided my hair, and I made a pot of black bean soup for my parents to have on hand for the week as a little gift for having Mavis and I over. Of course I had to taste test a bowl to make sure it was good 😉
Since I can’t stop with the vlogs lately, I filmed one while I was with my parents and I’m so glad I did. I love looking back on old vlogs because there are so many things I forget about. This one is already such a sweet memory to look back on.
Yay on all the exciting baby news- have an awesome day 🙂
Thank you so much! Hope your day is awesome as well!
That is so sweet of people to give hand me downs and used items! I love the duck onesie. Adorable!!
Would love to know what recipe you used for the soup. Black bean soup is one of my favorites!
I agree! It has been such a huge blessing to have these items just given to us! We’re hoping to be able to do the same in the future and pass on the love! And that duck onesie was giving me total heart eyes!
I love using this recipe for black bean soup! https://cookieandkate.com/2016/spicy-vegan-black-bean-soup I have kind of customized it since I first started making it (by adding zucchini, other spices, spinach, etc.) and it takes well to customizations thankfully! Let me know if you give it a try. It’s so creamy!
I had so much fun with you (and baby) and Mavis Louise spending the night! That baby has swimmer’s legs fo sho!! Major kicker already 🙂 Just like his/her mama.
Your black bean soup was incredible!! Thank you so much for surprising us with it!
Kim’s generosity is so sweet and incredible!!!! She’s a great and caring friend — if you’re reading this Kim — THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!! Her advise (and mine) on taking breaks from your beautiful child/children when you’re given the chance to — best. advise. ever. You have to – and you will appreciate that advise very soon!
I love you beautiful girl!
Madre
Thanks again for having us three over! She really is quite the kicker, huh?! Love it! I am so glad you enjoyed the black bean soup surprise!
Isn’t Kim just amazing? I’m so glad we are friends and that she has given me lots of parenting advice already!
I love you too! ❤
also — funniest part of your V-log – was Jimmy saying “I had McDonalds for lunch today”.
Seriously LOL’d!!!

He is too much!! In the best way, haha! I love him!
Mmm, the soup looks so tasty! I think it’s awesome that you have such a close relationship with your parents. I’m so glad that your baby will grow up so close to grandparents and aunts and uncles!
Thank you! I have been loving that soup lately! I could go for a bowl right now, haha.
I feel so blessed to have a close relationship with my parents, and even more blessed that our baby will grow up with lots of love and support from family!
I spent my weekend with family too and it felt amazing. Family is quite the blessing for me 🙂
YAY! I am so, so glad to hear this Ellie!
I actually recently went to a friend’s baby shower and it was so much fun. They had a lot of family and it was so sweet to see that my friend and his wife had so much support. Glad you were able to spend a fun weekend with your parents 🙂
I just love hearing that! Yay for baby showers and family support!
Love ❤️ you!

I love you too, Dad! ❤
I just lost my whole comment! 😦 So let’s see if I can remember the gist of it…
Yay for hand-me-downs! What a sweet friend!
I love that you are so close with your parents. That is such a precious relationship. And such a good example for your little one! Yay for shopping and quality time and such cute maternity clothes! And yay for the cute collar bows for the girls. Glad you had such a good visit! 🙂
Aw man, that’s such a bummer when that happens!! Thank you for writing a second comment. I feel very loved!
Hand-me-downs have been so awesome, as have sweet friends like YOU! And being close with my parents has been such a blessing! I cannot wait to see them become grandparents soon!
