I have been in “baking mode” ever since my brother and his fiance asked me to bake 500 cookies for their wedding.
A lot of taste testing has been happening in the Smith household! Bill and Racquel’s wedding theme color is light blue, so they asked me to incorporate it into the cookies somehow.
Here’s what the bridesmaid dresses look like.
That shade of blue is the theme color for the wedding. I’m going to be a bridesmaid, along with Racquel’s sister and friends. Hannah is going to be a junior bridesmaid! Her dress hasn’t been chosen yet, but I believe it’s going to be white.
On to the cookies.
Here’s what I’ve tested so far. Bill and Racquel really liked the Mexican wedding cookies, and are going to try the others today.
Mexican wedding cookies adapted from this recipe.
White chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies loosely based off of this recipe. I used white chocolate and dyed it blue. Yes, my chocolate “drizzling skills” need work. Haha.
This recipe was used to bake the snickerdoodles.
I have whole list of cookies I still want to try out, but it will probably be a few days until I actually get a chance because I’m going to be pet sitting for 9 hours each day for the next two days. More on that later!
What is your favorite cookie?
I love oatmeal raisin and peanut butter cookies.
Ooooh those dipped shortbreads look SO cute!
Thanks!!
COOKIES! You know I love my sugary sweets π You really can’t go wrong with a classic snickerdoodle. Or any cookie, really. Also, those bridesmaid dresses are gorgeous!
I love the bridesmaids dresses, too. I feel like I will be able to wear it more than once! I always feel bad for bridesmaids who have to buy expensive dresses that they only wear once because they’re ugly, lol.
All of those cookies look delicious- I think the wedding cookies and those dipped stars will be perfect for the wedding. We had the wedding cookies (well, I think my MIL called them “Lady Fingers”) for our wedding, homemade, and they were great. The dresses are cute too!
Bill and Racquel asked me to bake lady fingers an dye the frosting (or cream… whatever it is!) blue. I am having trouble fiding a good (read: simple) lady locks recipe!
Hmm… not sure what to do. I don’t even know if the lady my MIL used uses recipes! It’s an older lady who does everything from scratch- no wonder they were so good. Anyway, yours look delicious and I baked today as well hehe! Banana chocolate chip muffins.
Um, can I come over for official taste testing assistance???? π
Those cookies look delicious! I especially love Mexican wedding cookies – so buttery and delicious!
Oh yes!
Mint green! Her wedding colors are officially on my top list. You should definitely try looking up colored “sugars” and things online, you might be surprised at what you may find! I’m not sure if they make colored powdered sugar but you could maybe try and find it!

That dress is going to look amazing on you! I love it.
Those cookies look perfect! (And I wish I lived closer, because I’d be happy to taste test them for you). π
I LOVE that bridesmaid’s dress!! Where is it from?? Also, the cookies look great! You are quite the talented baker. π
It’s from White House Black Market!
That dress is adorable, you are going to look HOTTTTT in that little number!! I love those star cookies, they turned out so good! I LOVE CHOCOLATE CHIP! YUM!
Yesss, you know I’m with you on the oatmeal raisin–but I can’t say those exactly scream “wedding” π Love the star shortbread for that–gorgeous colored white chocolate!
Those cookies look fabulous! I love that color blue. The white chocoloate shortbread are so pretty! I think my favorite cookie would have to be samoas! Or anything with lots of peanut butter π
You are such a talent in the kitchen, Allie! Both cookies look delicious. I never thought of dying white chocolate any color.
The dresses are PRETTY. It’s going to be a lovely wedding!
