Our weekend included seven kids and four goats! Not on the same day, though. That would have been chaotic 😉
My sister and her family came over on Friday. Jimmy and Hannah’s husband, Josh, had a belated birthday gift to each other: they went kayaking and out to eat. Hannah and I hung out at our house with our seven kids and two dogs!
We got out our slip n slide, made homemade pizza, Niva escaped our house about 500 times, we went to the park, and just generally chillaxed (as much as you can with seven kids under age seven!).
Dakota and Gideon spent lots of time together! Remember when they both fit in the seat Gideon is sitting in above? How are they growing so quickly! Hannah and I both breastfed each other’s babies on Friday and it was actually super convenient! Like, I was able to cook dinner while Hannah fed Dakota and I fed Gideon while she ate dinner. Boom. We need to be neighbors 😂
They even napped together 🫶
Titus wanted to hold my hand when we went on a walk! Made my aunt heart so happy! For some reason, I didn’t get a single picture of Sadie and Caroline. Those girls were b-u-s-y all day!
It was so nice to catch up with Hannah and get all the cousins together 🥰
On Saturday, we went to Jimmy’s brother’s house to visit him and his goats! Nick is so content being a bachelor with his dog (Peach!) and four goats.
The kids reactions to the goats:
- Sadie: terrified and didn’t want to go near them unless she was being held.
- Mordecai: loved them and wanted them to follow him.
- Dakota: enamored with them and cooed at them!
Goats are so cool! We brought them carrots but they were a little leery of trying new foods. We gave them some of their treats and it was so cute to see them eat out of our hands.
Mordecai thought he was a goat whisperer. He kept wanting the goats to follow him!
Jimmy’s brother lives on 13 acres of land and he has a big hill right by his house. The kids wanted to roll down the hill and of course we said yes! I feel like that’s just a kid rite of passage 🙂
Dakota was intently watching! Maybe next summer she’ll be rolling down the hill with them 😉 It was a great weekend with all the kids and all the goats!

Such a great Friday and Saturday! Great pics and write up!
Love ❤️You

It was a great weekend!! Love you Pap Pap!
such an adorable post! I love that you all got together ~ and I had no idea the boys went kayaking!
Decky with the goats is hilarious ~ and I’m with Sadie, I would have been a little standoffish. So cute that Dak likes them too!
They’re adorable, but I have never been around them, so I’m slightly intimidated for sure.
love,
Madre
It was a great day! Yes, the boys went kayaking and fished from their kayaks! Mordecai LOVED the goats! It was so fun seeing him enamored with them, haha. We’ll have to take you out to Nick’s sometime to meet “the boys” hehe! Love you!
Aww that sounds like a wonderful day for you all 🙂
Before I was born, my mum had a herd of 12 goats and used to make cheese and yogurt from their milk. I don’t know how she managed 12! From the stories she tells, it sounds like some of them were very mischievous, and certainly all had their own distinct personalities.
Jimmy’s brother’s lifestyle sounds idyllic. I’d love acres of land and a lot of animals!
WHAT! Your mom is so cool. I feel like I’d love to just sit down and pick her brain!
Goats are super cool!! His brother has a fun life going on!
