Hello from Dakota!

She is rocking some new pajamas we picked up while in the Outer Banks. I couldn’t resist the starfish. Too cute! How are you? I’m so confused on time and dates because we left for our vacation in May and now we’re almost in the double digits of June?!

I’m happy to share that Sadie finished her 180 days of school for the year! Where did we do her last day of lessons? At Millie’s Ice Cream!!

We actually did it in the evening and Jimmy joined us. We took the picture below and said Dakota looks mad she can’t have ice cream yet 😂

Sadie and I decided that we need to celebrate the end of the school year on a mommy-Sadie date to paint pottery. I can’t wait! When we first started throwing out ideas she was like “We should go camping, just us two!” and I was cracking up. Camping is ok, but definitely Jimmy’s forte 😉

We finished school on Friday and on Saturday morning we went to Starbucks as a family so I could work on sending in paperwork to our school district’s superintendent about our choice to homeschool, educational objectives, and more. I went to the post office after getting caffeinated and sent all the paperwork via certified mail. It felt great to get that done!

If anyone is wondering, these were our Starbucks orders:

Jimmy: Iced brown sugar oat milk espresso
Allie: Blonde espresso roast with extra cream
Sadie: Bacon egg bites
Mordecai: Chocolate cake pop
Dakota: Coffee-flavored breastmilk

Jimmy set up our homemade slip n slide for the kids (and neighborhood kids!) and they had a blast!

Mordecai and Dakota joined me while I picked Niva up from boarding! She is in her shedding era now that the season is changing. Help!!

Two funny things of note:

• When we got home from North Carolina, we were set to pick Niva up the day after we got into Pittsburgh. The day we got home, our friend dropped her husky off at our house while she went on a trip and we didn’t yet have Niva. The neighbor kids were like wait, that’s not Niva?
• Jimmy’s sister cut our grass while we were on vacation and our neighbor said they didn’t know if she was my sister or Jimmy’s sister. Also, she left Sadie notes in her bedroom while we were gone and we arrived home at 3:00 am and Sadie found a note in her bed and we were all confused and delirious 😂

Aaaand that’s it for this post! We’re onto a new week over here. I’m trying a pilates class with Jimmy’s sister (!!), Sadie is going to a day of fairy garden camp (I suspect Mordecai is going to miss her big time), and Jimmy has a church meeting!
