November is here, and you know what that means: Thanksgiving! What a fun, happy, and (relatively) low stress holiday! No one is really expected to buy or give gifts, you get to eat a wonderful meal, and hopefully spend time with family. Can’t beat that.
I am such a lover of seasonal books, so I thought it would be fun to share six Thanksgiving books that we personally own, read, and enjoy. Some are focused on the actual holiday, while others center around the theme of being thankful. No matter what, they are all cute, fun reads to teach toddlers about Thanksgiving and being thankful!

The Story of Thanksgiving by Nancy J. Skarmeas
This book tells the story of Thanksgiving in a way that toddlers can grasp. It gives the historical background of Thanksgiving and discusses the relevance of the holiday for us today. Perfect for kids ages 2-5.
Taylor the Thankful Turkey by Sonica Ellis
Taylor the turkey’s goal isn’t just to be thankful for what he has, but to show others that he’s thankful for them! He shows that by doing acts of kindness and giving gifts. A cute book for kids ages 2-4.
Happy Thanksgiving, Biscuit! by Alyssa Satin Capucilli
This sweet lift-a-flap book will have you smiling as Biscuit the puppy celebrates his first Thanksgiving and gets into all sorts of cute mischief. For kids ages 2-4.
Be Thankful, Be Giving by Charles M. Schulz
If you’re a Peanuts fan, you’ll love sharing this heartwarming book about food, family, friends, and all the blessings of Thanksgiving with your child. Great for kids ages 2-5.
Biscuit is Thankful by Alyssa Satin Capucilli
Another Biscuit book! This board book is all about what Biscuit is thankful for. A cute and simple read for kids ages 1-3.
A Very Thankful Prayer by Bonnie Rickner Jensen
One of our absolute favorite books for fall and Thanksgiving, this book models how to pray with a thankful heart and notice the things all around to be thankful for. Great faith-based read for kids ages 2-5.
Thanks for sharing Allie I know Sadie loves to read books!
