The 23rd Psalm and A Few Pictures

Hello! Just stopping in to share a few things from our life lately. First of all, I have to share this beautiful rendition of one of the most popular passages in the Bible, Psalm 23.

One of our preacher’s wives led a women’s Bible study last week and shared this and I knew I had to ask her if I could post it here. Thanks Miss Laura 🙂

The 23rd Psalm – God’s Care

The Lord is my Shepherd –> That’s relationship.
I shall not want –> That’s supply.
He makes me lie down in green pastures –> That’s rest.
He leads me beside still waters –> That’s refreshment.
He restores my soul –> That’s healing.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness –> That’s guidance.
For His name’s sake –> That’s purpose.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death –> That’s testing.
I will fear no evil –> That’s protection.
For You are with me –> That’s faithfulness.
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me –> That’s discipline.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies –> That’s hope.
You anoint my head with oil –> That’s consecration.
My cup runs over –> That’s abundance.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life –> That’s blessing.
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord –> That’s security.
Forever –> That’s eternity.

Isn’t that just beautiful? I love it. Okay, onto some pictures from our life lately that aren’t nearly as beautiful as the 23rd Psalm 😉

Seeing my daughter with my sister’s daughter never. gets. old. The fact that they were born just eight months apart and (my sister and I have a six-year age difference between us!) is a blessing that is never lost on me ❤️

Also, seeing Sadie and Niva sit still for more than 30 seconds is totally photo worthy. These two… Sadie on her own isn’t bad, and Niva on her own isn’t bad. The two of them together, though? Mass chaos and destruction! I don’t know how they do it, haha.

Still working on expanding Sadie’s palate and we saw these peanut butter bites at the store yesterday! Maybe I just want to foster in her a deep love of peanut butter like I have, haha.

Also, we were at the store and she was being… a toddler at Walmart (parents, you know what I mean, right?) and a man stopped us and was like “Were you like that as a child? Did your mom let you talk to her like that?” and I was so embarrassed! I didn’t think she was misbehaving really badly, just whining and asking to look at toys, but ugh! Didn’t want to hear that comment 🤪

Alright, that’s all I have for today. I am off to make Sadie girl some breakfast and start our day!

Do you have a favorite Psalm? –> I love Psalm 18 and 32!

  1. Thanks for sharing the 23rd Psalm – I really liked the breakdown, so beautiful!
Also, I can’t believe that guy said that to you! So rude! I’m glad you shrugged it off.

  2. That rendition that Laura shared is beautiful!! I will have to print and post it!!
Caroline and Sadie together is priceless!! 💕
And last but not least- IT’S A GOOD THING YAYA WASN’T WITH YOU GIRLS IN WALMART. Seriously though? What is wrong with people. I probably would have kindly responded (in my sweetest YaYa voice) ‘uh, obviously your mother didn’t teach you to mind your own business and to think before you speak..’ Let’s face it- I most likely would have totally flipped out on him and been arrested for harassment and thrown in the Allegheny County Jail and bitten by a rat (side joke)
U G H. We are going to go to Walmart every time I am with you and I will search for that man and when I find him say ‘remember them buddy? Well you just met THEE YAYA…
    🤣

  3. That is an awesome interpretation of psalm 23!

Love those pictures of the babies!

I wouldn’t worry about the Walmart comment, your doing a wonderful job as a mom!

    Dad
    🙂

  4. Oh friend, I am so sorry about the commentary from the man in the store. That’s totally unnecessary not to mention rude. Ugh.

Do you have the children’s book “Found” by Sally Lloyd Jones? It’s a children’s version of Psalm 23 and it has been a favorite of ours for years! ❤

    1. Aww, thank you Rach!!

YES! You got us into the Sally Lloyd Jones books and now we are *hooked*! I just recently ordered her new book, Near (based off of Psalm 139) and it is beautiful!
