Our Thanksgiving 2020

How was your Thanksgiving? I want to hear all about it!

Ours was low key and delicious! We started the day by being overjoyed that Sadie slept in until a little after 7:00 am! Yes, that is totally “sleeping in” for us nowadays 😉

After everyone was up and had a pancake breakfast, we headed out to Starbucks to grab some coffee, a puppuccino for Niva, and Saide picked out a milk.

We popped the trunk and settled into the back of our car to enjoy our drinks for a bit. I’m pretty sure Niva enjoyed her treat the most! Sadie made sure to have a lick of the whipped cream, too.

After we got ready for the day we headed over to my parents’ house for a little Thanksgiving gathering with them and my sister’s family.

Sadie and Caroline’s faces when they saw each other was priceless.

The girls spent the day playing, playing, and playing some more. It’s always so nice when they’re together because they entertain each other really well. It’s truly a joy to see them grow up together and be so close.

Niva and I snuck out on a little walk in the afternoon. I haven’t walked her alone in a long time so it was quite the treat for us both!

All of the adults rotated between keeping Sadie and Caroline out of trouble, relaxing, and helping prepare the big meal.

We had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, apple pie, and a few other sides.

After dinner, we all hung out and cleaned up before heading home. What a blessed day! It was so nice to spend the day with family and reflect on the many reasons we are thankful. God is so good ❤

  1. It was so much fun to have you guys all here. I LOVE making Thanksgiving dinner ~ I can honestly say I look forward to it every year. I’m so happy you enjoyed the day with us, and that Niva came too. She has become such a good girl (hey, she only jumped our fence once and came right back— that’s progress 🤣)
    Love you!!

  2. Looks like fun!!
It was a bittersweet for myself; loved spending it with my sweet MN family but missed my parents, brother, brother-in-law, and their pets. We also found out that my grandfather has mesothelioma ); this was after he’d been in the hospital all week for a collapsed lung. We thought he’d be getting out on Thanksgiving morning & get to spend the day w/ my parents, instead he got a lung cancer diagnosis.

    1. It was a great day!

I’m sorry to hear about your grandfather’s mesothelioma diagnosis 😦 That is not fun news, especially on a day that you would want to celebrate. Ugh. I’ll be praying for your family, Niques!

I’m glad you were able to be with you MN family on Thanksgiving! ❤

  3. What a sweet Thanksgiving! So glad you all got to be together! Also, I love that you have a decade of Thanksgivings recorded on this blog! ❤
