Snapshots From The Outer Banks

Jimmy, Sadie, my mom, dad, and I (plus Mavis and my parents pup, Brandy) all took a road trip to the Outer Banks, NC in mid-April and it was lovely!

My parents purchased a beach house almost a year ago and Jimmy and I were so excited to finally stay in it!

The 8.5 hour drive wasn’t nearly as tough as I expected it to be with a six-month-old thanks to toys, books, and mom singing plenty of made up songs to Sadie 😉

Sadie enjoyed looking at the ocean but wasn’t a fan of having her toes dipped in the water since it was so cold. Mavis was totally afraid of the waves but enjoyed walking on the sand!

We had great weather–highs in the 70s, with sunshine–most days, and enjoyed our time together. Jimmy and I were able to go on two dates (bowling and dinner out!) and so appreciated my parents watching Sadie for us!

How about some pictures?!

I’m realizing this post is getting long and is picture heavy, so part II will be soon to follow with more details!

  1. We had so much fun! It was amazing to see Sadie’s facial expressions through the many adventures we went on. She was such a joy, and dad and I truly enjoy every second we can spend with your beautiful family!! Looking forward to many more!!!

  2. Oh my goodness, so much cuteness in these photos! Visiting NC is a bucket list item of mine, as I have heard it is so beautiful!
Those donuts look incredible! Sadie is just too precious! And did Jimmy catch a sting ray? I’m trying to tell what that thing is that he caught, but – either way – I would have just caught a boot… so he’s quite the fisherman! Ha, ha.
That’s so great that you were able to enjoy a couple of dates while you were out there!!

    1. I hope you guys get to visit NC one day! It really is a gorgeous, peaceful place!

Jimmy caught a bunch of “skate” which just look like sting rays to me, haha!

  3. Looks like the most wonderful vacation!! Smiles all around! ❤ You know I can’t help but comment on how good those donuts look- mmm! Can’t wait for part II 🙂

    1. The sky was SO blue that day! Just breathtaking! I was really glad the car ride went well. I don’t know what we would have done if Sadie cried for 8.5 hours straight, lol!

Thank you for the compliment on our family photos! I have a feeling we will cherish them forever 🙂

  4. So much fun! I’m glad you guys got to get away for a bit! And taking built-in babysitters with you is brilliant! 😉
