Ahhh, what a weekend! Jimmy and I had my family over on Saturday for a little fall party. It was really nice to spend time with them! I know I mention this a lot, but I miss my family so much.
Before I moved out, I was extremely close with my family. We spent most of our time together when I wasn’t at school (because my parents have a home-based business), and now I mostly see them for a few minutes at church. It’s hard living far apart now. It definitely makes me cherish every single moment I get to spend with them!
Anyways, Hannah planned the party and it included games, coloring pages, and a full dinner and dessert menu. I think she would make a great event organizer one day, haha.
I decided to decorate our house a few days before everyone came over and it was fun! I got into hardcore craft mode on Friday. Jimmy came home from work and saw that our kitchen table was just an explosion of craft supplies. He just looked at me and started laughing. He was like “Uh oh, you’re in the zone, aren’t you?” haha. YES.
This was the calm before the storm 😉
It was my first time actually decorating our house! You should see our bedroom. We literally just have a bed, dresser, and white walls. Yeesh. I think my problem is that I want to decorate, but I want everything to look just right, so I just freeze because I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake. I’ll dive in soon, though! Maybe…
Here’s a few pictures of my fall decorations! Yes, they’re pretty much all homemade and very remedial 😉
I had fun making everything, and Jimmy helped me out with the leaf garland on Saturday morning. It was a great little activity to do together!
Putting a pumpkin inside of a glass case totally counts as a decoration, right?! Ha..
The candy corn “decoration” is going fast because we keep snacking on it 🙂
Here’s a few pictures from when my family came over…
My mom with her puppy, Reggie. No Smith/Zottola family get together is complete without pets! Also, we were blessed with some amazing weather. The high temperature was in the low 70s, and it was sunny. I kept saying that it felt like California. Whatever that means.
Hannie and Jimmy coloring together. My dad was in the background
watching a car show snoozing.
We took Lola, Brandy, and Reggie on a walk and Reggie crashed in Lola’s bed when we arrived home. He’s so cute and such a mellow puppy! He has definitely blended in well with my family.
