A day in the life

I haven’t done a “day in the life” post since last semester!

This is a typical Tuesday for me.

5:00 a.m. – Wake up, eat breakfast, drink coffee. Breakfast lately has been oatmeal and peanut butter.oats
5:30 a.m. – Swim or run or lift weights.swimming
6:30 a.m. – Drive home from the gym, shower, have a snack, read my Bible.

7:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Do homework and pack a lunch. I usually pack a tuna sandwich, veggies, and anything else that looks good in the fridge. I typically grab a coffee at school because I’ve become friends with the woman who works at the coffee stand. She bakes me cookies sometimes.

11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Attend COMM 270, which is a multimedia design class. We are working on making a website and it’s really hard because I struggle with technology.007
12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. Eat my lunch and drive to a local park about 10 minutes from campus to meet up with my mom and walk around the park’s pond.IMG_4946
12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. Walk and talk with my mom. I love this part of my day! Afterwards, I drive back to campus.

2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Work on homework on campus. Eat a snack. I usually eat a granola bar or mixed nuts.luna

3:00 p.m. – 5:40 p.m. Attend CAS 204, which is a communications research prep course. This class is pretty tough–I’m learning about different research methods for my senior research project next semester. The professor gives us a 10 minute break during the class to break it up a bit. I usually pee because I drank too much coffee all day.

5:40 p.m. – 6:10 p.m. Drive home. I’m so glad it’s daylight savings time now because I don’t like driving in the dark.

6:10 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Heat up whatever my mom made for dinner and feast upon it. Sometimes if she’s busy or not home I “fend for myself” by heating up leftovers, cooking random things that I find in the refrigerator, or by making a sandwich.005

7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Catch up with my family to see how everyone’s day was, do homework if I have the energy, read blogs, and cuddle with Lola.lola
9:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Hit the hay. Yes, I go to bed extremely early. I love sleep ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Wow your day looks so different from mine. My classes are all in the morning and I definitely don’t wake up at 5am! I need to be friends with someone who will bake me cookies.

  2. I LOVE your 5AM wake up! I get up that early to work at 6…Then by like 9 I’m ready to watch 30 rock and hit the sack ๐Ÿ™‚

How do you make the pb oats?

  3. I try to wake up early but it’s hard! Today I slept in until 7:30 AM! I guess I was just wiped out from the weekend though because of the race still, so maybe I needed the rest. Your college is really different from mine, all our classes were in the morning (well, morning or very early afternoon like 12:30-2ish. We never had classes at like 3, our campus was dead by then, haha.

That’s awesome that you are friends with the person at the coffee shop on campus :). I’m trying to make friends with people like that here since I work at home, hehe.

  4. The thing I miss most about school is grabbing coffee on campus at the Starbucks in the library. I miss people watching so much and just being in the atmosphere of college! I made friends with the lady in my school’s convenience store. This sounds ridiculous but she used to let me get a glove to pick out my favorite flavors in the jelly bean bin! Hahahah. Love it!

  5. I love these kinds of posts! I find it so interesting to see how other people typically spend their days. You wake up so early! I like getting up early, but 5AM is sooooo early! I think that is so awesome that you and your mom meet up at the park in the middle of your day to spend some time together. And I don’t like driving in the dark either. Thank goodness for daylight saving time!

  6. I love days in the life! And peanut butter and oatmeal….why have I not thought of this?! Trying it tomorrow! Thanks for the idea ๐Ÿ™‚ That Luna bar also looks amazing. I’ve been pretty smitten with Clif (Cliff?) bars lately.

  7. I know I’m rather late but I always enjoy when people post these things. Especially because I know how realistic your life is and we can easily relate you know? Anyways-did you get bangs? I didn’t realize you did, maybe I’m a bit clueless when your hair is straight.
