A Very Unedited Tour of Our Pittsburgh Home

This is a post I’ve been wanting to write for a while now: a tour of our home!

The basics

  • Size: 975 square feet
  • Year Built: 1955
  • Bedrooms: 3
  • Bathrooms 1
  • Shared by: Me, my husband, our three kids (ages 6, 2, and 4 months), Siberian husky, and black cat
  • How long we’ve owned our home: 11 years

This is our place. The place where we eat meals, homeschool, pray, play, and live life. Our home has seen Jimmy and I go from newlyweds to parents of three sweet kids. We’ve held gatherings, Bible studies, and events here. Our walls have witnessed sickness, noise, chaos, everyday life, and so much joy.

When I started taking photos for this post, I decided not to edit anything or make things look ~aesthetic~ because that’s not real life. And I always keep it real here! So, welcome to our home 😊

Living Room Refresh Inspiration

It’s currently Friday evening as I type up this post and I’m so excited for tomorrow. My mom, Hannah’s sister-in-law, and I planned a little baby shower for my sister and I can’t wait! I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and maybe even squeeze in a vlog to remember the day!

Okay, onto the topic of this post. Jimmy has been diligently working on a new fireplace and mantle for our living room (it was our Christmas gift to each other!) in his free time and I’ve been dreaming of sitting by the fire with my little family 😊

Since we’re doing a little makeover of the fireplace, I think it’s the perfect opportunity to do a little refresh throughout the whole living room. I made a little inspiration graphic below of some of the ideas I have in mind.

Navy blue and coral living room decor

Coral pillow covers // Gray Blanket // Jute Basket // Navy Blue Pillow Covers // Watercolor Print // Curtains // Succulents

Basically, I’m really liking navy blue and coral together. Our walls and couches are gray, which I think is a nice neutral background for coral and navy. I’m thinking lots of texture and pops of color. I haven’t told Jimmy my ideas yet, so I’ll see what he thinks 😉

I definitely don’t want to go crazy with this little project because I’m sure new curtains/pillows/decor will be ruined well-used within a few years (living the toddler + dog + cat with claws life over here) so I’m wondering if you have any budget-friendly decor stores you recommend?!

Do you have any favorite color combinations?

Are you working on any home projects at the moment?
