Solo Parenting Three Kids for 28 Hours

We did it! We survived 28 hours without Jimmy! A few months ago, he asked if I was okay with him attending an overnight seminar in Ohio with a group of men from our church. I took a deep breath, said yes, and braced myself to be the only parent for a little over a day.

I wanted Jimmy to go, and I also didn’t want to be the only one in charge of three young kids! We did just fine and it was so sweet when we were all reunited. 😊 (more…)

A Day at The Pittsburgh Zoo, Outdoor Homeschooling, and Thinking About Fall

For our family, this week has been all about soaking up the last bits of summer before the (unofficial) arrival of fall. We spent a lovely day at the Pittsburgh Zoo, homeschooled outside as much as possible, and I’ve started thinking about the next season and what we’d like to do and focus on!

The weather in Pittsburgh has been cooling off and the season is definitely shifting. While I’m sad to see summer start to make its exit, I’m looking forward to the coming months and all the joy I know they will bring. I can’t control the seasons (I’d make it summer forever 😉), I can control my attitude towards change and enjoy life in every season.
