Sleepover

Jimmy and I had our cousins stay the night on Friday so their parents could have a date night and it was seriously so much fun! Since we see the boys at church a few times a week, we’ve become really close and they kind of feel like little brothers to me. I’ve always wanted a younger brother, and now I feel like I have three 🙂

Cody, Josiah, and Nathan came over after Jimmy and I got home from work and we all cooked dinner together. We made pizza, pasta, soup, and sandwiches. Variety is the spice of life, right?!

After dinner, we all hung out for a bit with Malcolm and Lola. Then the boys played video games, and I fell asleep on the couch at like 9:30, haha. It was fun to hear all the banter going on between the boys about who was beating who at the video games!

We all went to bed around 11:30 and I think only two out of the three boys were woken up by Malcolm walking on them while they were trying to sleep. Not too bad 😉

For breakfast, Jimmy helped me cook pancakes and bacon.

After everyone ate, Josiah and Nathan perfected their gaming skills while Cody and I took Lola on a walk and then played a board game he created. Yes, you read that right, he created a board game! I got so into it and was bummed when their parents came to pick them up because I wanted to keep playing, ha.

I think it’s safe to say Cody could be creating board games for Hasbro in the future.

We hung out with the whole family (including baby sister, Leia!) and then they left and our house felt super quiet. The sudden silence must have made us realize how tired we were because we promptly took a nap, haha. I don’t know how parents keep up with their kids. It’s amazing.

All in all, it was such a fun sleepover and I can’t wait to do it again 🙂

Life lately & my nose

Besides driving through a random snowstorm, life has been good lately!I think I have played board games like 3 nights in a row this past week. I played a game called Elfinland at a college game night and Taboo on NYE at church and on Sunday (@ home, w/ family) because the power went out for 4 hours due to a rain and windstorm. [College student game night was a lot of fun!][My family + Jimmy all huddled around the candles and played Taboo and charades until the power came on.]

I have been staying up late (and subsequently sleeping in!) to watch some amazing movies and eat delicious food[Goldfish and Water For Elephants… a good match.]SCALLOPS!

I have also been using Starbucks gift cards that I got for Christmas like none other. I guzzle peppermint mocha’s like it’s my business. 30 seconds later….Gone.

I’ve been scaring Jimmy. He is afraid of my biceps getting too bulky..I wore a cap-sleeved dress on Sunday and it didn’t fit my shoulders. Ugh.

He is also afraid of bowling with me.You see, I like bowling, but I just get so mad/frustrated if I don’t do well! I have a love-hate relationship with bowling for sure.

My nose has been hurting lately.I had to have my nose almost completely reconstructed in 2009 after a car accident.[Post-surgery 2009.]

For about a week, I have been experiencing bleeding within my nose and i’m pretty sure my septum (the area between the nostrils) has shifted to the point where it is causing a lot of pain + it has affected my breathing a little. I’m going to call my surgeon today and get an appointment to have it looked at, just to make sure everything is okay. :/ Bleh.

Have a great day!!
