Currently: June 2024

Six months into 2024. Happy June! What’s up for you this month? I want to hear all about it in the comments.

Picture of family on a trail

As always, here’s what’s current for me this month.

Current books Almost finished studying the book of Esther. Sadie is loving Find Momo books. It’s a series of books by a photographer. His dog, Momo, is the subject for all the photos and the photographer would have him hide in various places (by the Eiffel Tower! In front of the Space Needle in Seattle! Etc.) and readers have to try and spot him in every photo.

Current food I made a batch of pulled pork the other day and, as always, it’s hitting the spot.

Current baked good(s) Chocolate chip cookies, challah, chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, and pineapple upside down cupcakes. The chocolate chip cookies were a surprising win. I ran out of butter, so I used oil and they came out really well!

Current question Does anybody have a Book of the Month membership? I am so tempted to join but I don’t know if it’s actually a good deal or not 😆

Currently looking forward to Going on vacation! I don’t love the prep and travel, but once we’re there it’s always so nice.

Current beauty product Exfoliating cleanser. It feels good to gently scrub off the day when I take a shower.

Current fun Meeting my brother-in-law’s goat! He’s too cute.

Girl and baby meeting goat

Current excitement Braid Bakery was asked to have granola featured in an advent calendar this Christmas! I am so excited about this opportunity.

Current drink Coffee! Always.

Current joy Seeing Sadie and Mordecai grow and change. Sadie is now learning to ride her bike without training wheels and Mordecai is saying new words every day!

Family photo

Current need Shoes. Mordecai suddenly grew out of all of his shoes and I need a new pair of sandals. If anyone has any recommendations for women’s sandals, let me know!

Current craving A nap! Or just rest in general haha. I had an iron infusion last week and the main side effect for me has been fatigue.

Current laugh Sadie, Mordecai, and I walked to a park and Mordecai found two balls and was so excited that he hugged them!

Current home product Mystical Fire packets! You just throw them into a bonfire and they change the color of your fire. They’re pretty cheap ($7 for 6 packs) and are a fun little addition to a bonfire night.

Current kid product A Hugglepod. Nobody in our family was surprised that Sadie loves it and Mordecai is terrified of it.

Current cuteness Mordecai playing peek-a-boo.

  1. I’ve had a BOTM membership since 2018! I look forward to it every month. I love when favorite authors are on there and I get an early release, but I’ve also discovered so many authors that way too! Highly recommend.

    1. I love that you have had it for so long and love it! I am definitely going to look into it! Last month they had a $5 fee for joining and this month it’s $10. I’m kicking myself for not joining last month hahah.

      1. Ooo Thrift Books is amazing! I just ordered Sadie a few books from there and I was shocked at how cheap they were!! You’re smart to always go to the library! Saves a fortune 🙂

  2. And we are at the beach together in June! The kids are so cute!

So happy to spend so much time together!

  3. I have asked for book of the month membership for a few years for birthday/Christmas gift from my FIL and I find it to be a great gift. Because I use the library so much, I don’t usually splurge on new books and this feels decadent while also not making me feel guilty for spending money on books because it was a gift. So that’s an option. But even if you decide to treat yourself, I think it’s worth it! The selection is very good and it’s fun to get a new book each month.

Sounds like you have so many exciting things going on! Yay for Braid Bakery.

  4. I’ve been travelling in May and June. Working in London for three weeks, then two weeks seeing my daughters in New Orleans. Currently on my way back to London for another week, then back to Australia. It’s been an incredible trip.

  5. I love when you do your current posts!! I always learn a lot about products, and LOL at Sadie and Decky and how they’re so different, but such loving siblings. I’d love to see the colorful bonfire next time I’m at your house in the evening 🩷

I can just taste your choc chip cookies now as I read this (wish I REALLY could though)

    love you,

    madre
