Matching, Gaming, and Winter Weather

I was sorting through the pictures on my phone and I noticed we’ve done a lot of matching lately! The first matching photo is kind of funny. Jimmy got Sadie and I matching dresses for Valentine’s Day and we ended up returning them because while she looked cute, I looked like Ma Ingalls.

Sadie and Mordecai matched their pajamas. Too bad Niva doesn’t have a matching bandana 😉

They matched their pajamas again with Peeps jammies. Jimmy was like “It’s too bad they don’t make adult Peeps pajamas…” haha.

I mentioned in my last post that Niva and I had three days in a row of therapy work but we were only able to do one day. We headed to a facility that treated people with dementia on Thursday night and had a great time visiting. We had to cancel the other two visits due to the weather (snow!!) one day and lack of childcare the other day.

We’ve had cold weather lately, so Sadie and I have been doing lots of gaming while Mordecai naps. We’ve been enjoying Pretty Pretty Princess and Don’t Break the Ice.

Miss Niva has been getting into the habit of laying in bed with me while I read. Shhh, don’t tell Jimmy! He has a strict no dogs on the bed rule.

I took the kids on a date on Friday! We went to Panera for breakfast, browsed around the bookstore, walked around the craft store, and grabbed some groceries. It was nice!

The grocery store had Easter candy out, so I picked up some eggs to make chocolate malted milk cupcakes with birds nests.

It’s Sunday afternoon as I type up this post! Mordecai wore a bow tie today. We went into Starbucks as a family before church and it was fun to hang out and warm up with a coffee. We played in the snow yesterday, but I think it’s too windy and cold to be out in it today 🥶

This coming week should be a busy one! Mordecai has his 15 month checkup, Niva and I have a therapy visit, Sadie has kids club, the kids and I will be going to co-op, and I’m taking Niva to a one-on-one training session to continue working on her skills!

What are you up to this week?

  1. I love all the matches so cute! I can only imagine how fulfilling the therapy work is with Neva. It Hass to be priceless to see the looks on peoples face with Neva, giving them attention and letting them pet her. The baked goods sure look good, and you can always set at least one of each aside for me. Ha ha!

    Love ❤️ you!

    1. It’s my favorite!

I can’t even explain how fulfilling and joyful therapy work is with Niva. I absolutely LOVE it!

I will always set aside some goodies for you!

      Love you!

  2. I love the matching pj’s. I remember my mom use to buy my sister and I matching dresses for pics. I didn’t like it then– but now I understand how cute it is!
Deck in his bow tie is PRICELESS! Such a little man already!!
I’m so glad that you always take the kids out to different places – it’s GREAT for them to mingle with other people, and to learn how to behave at coffee shops and restaurants – after all, how else will they learn? It’s also great for their manners 🙂
The Easter cupcakes look so so so good!! I love the little eggs on top!
Sadie has some amazing games – they’re so much fun to play, and she has a blast teaching me how to play each one.
I have a typical YaYa week- spin classes & weight training, church $ duties, cleaning, groceries, dinners, laundry, and my fave part of every week is visiting grandchildren & their mama’s.
    Love you

    1. Matching anything for kids just makes me so happy! Sadie really loves it. Every night she wants to match pajamas and I am all for it as long as they are!!

Thank you for your sweet words on me taking the kids out a lot! It’s not easy, but it’s worth it and so important for them and me! I need to get out… they need to get out… it’s just good!

Can’t wait to see you on Tuesday!
      Love you
