A Sign, Back to Coffee, and Cleaning

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post about our crazy weekend! We’re feeling much better and even back to drinking coffee. Just in time to enjoy our new coffee maker!

I gave Jimmy the K-Elite Keurig for Valentine’s Day and we have both been thoroughly enjoying it. I felt a little bad getting him a gift that both of us would benefit from buuut I knew he’d love it and our old Keurig was on its last leg. Plus, his Valentine’s Day gift for me is to take me out to eat and we both benefit from that, so…. 😉

Speaking of Jimmy, check out the sign he designed, created, and installed at his work!

In case anyone is new here or doesn’t know, Jimmy works for his family’s business as a steel fabricator. I guess the shop was due for a new sign, so he made one that could attach to one of their landscaping boulders.

He’s pretty awesome 🙂

See Sadie’s face? That’s the face of a baby who spent the day cleaning with her mama!

We’ve been sanitizing all. the. things. in our house and she has been such a champ about being put in the baby carrier while I vacuum, mop, and fold laundry. I’ve also been putting away Sadie’s 0-3 and 3 month-sized clothes and trying not to get overly sentimental… but how is she almost five months?!

Other random things of note
-I’m eating a frozen chocolate chip cookie as I type this post and it’s really good. I’ve never had a frozen cookie, but I was too lazy to defrost it. I’ve decided I need to eat cookies like this more often.
-Sadie has really been loving the “Babies Love” lift-a-flap books and I’m currently looking for a good read. Any suggestions?
-I’m going to a baby shower on Saturday afternoon for a friend at church and I’m so pumped! She’s having a little boy 🙂

Do you have any fun weekend plans?

Have you ever ate frozen cookies?

  1. Jimmy’s sign is awesome! I’ve never eaten a frozen cookie but I’ve eaten frozen cookie dough which is close enough haha. Glad to hear you’re feeling better!

    1. Thank you, Maureen! I highly recommend frozen cookies!! I do love frozen cookie dough, though, too! It’s amazing 🙂

I’m glad to be feeling better as well! I always forget how good it feels to be healthy until I’m sick, haha.

  2. Wow, he did such a great job with that sign! Clearly he’s very skilled! It really shows off what the company can do for sure. I’ve never eaten a frozen cookie, or even thought about freezing them before, but that’s a good idea! How fun that you guys got a new Keurig! It’s always fun to get a new kitchen appliance, especially for coffee, haha.

    1. Aww, thanks Courtney! I think he did awesome, too!!

Let me know if you ever try a frozen cookie! It’s just something different and definitely fun if you like frozen desserts!

We are looooving the new Keurig! New kitchen appliances are the best! So fun to play around with 🙂

  3. Hehe- don’t feel bad about getting a gift y’all will both enjoy! I feel like it’s inevitable in marriage- for Valentine’s Day I got DJ his favorite candle… aka my favorite candle… that we’ll both enjoy, haha! So maybe I’m saying this to make myself feel better too 😉 Jimmy created that?!?! WOW- so cool!!! Sadie is just the sweeeeeetest. My gosh, her little outfit too- can’t stand the cuteness! Last night DJ and I had a little date night, but no more plans really this weekend because of school assignments *womp womp*. Have fun at the baby shower today :)!!

    1. I saw the candle you got DJ on your V-Day post and I was thinking of how that was such a great idea, hahah.

Baby outfits are my fave! Like why can’t they make some of Sadie’s clothes in my size?!

Hope the school assignments went well for ya! ❤

  4. Thanks for showing off my work babe! All the work you do with Sadie hanging from you all day is WAY more impressive to me though 😉 thanks for all you do for our lil family!

  5. Definitely don’t feel bad about buying a gift you both benefit from! Besides, with your busy lives, you both need all the coffee you can get! And I don’t know about you, but I get a little bit grumpy when I don’t have coffee haha. So if you’re the same, you’re basically doing Jimmy a favor by getting a shared coffee maker 😉

Wow, the sign is seriously impressive! And the letters are all perfectly uniform and aligned. How did Jimmy do that? Did he use a stencil to mark the letters before cutting them out? (‘Cutting’ is probably the wrong word there, but I don’t know much about welding terminology haha).

Aww, Sadie’s little face is simply too cute. That smile! 🙂 I hear you re: babies growing quickly. My nephew is seven months and learning to crawl….where did the time go?!

Oh, by the way, I was going to reply to your other comment about the heart-shaped candy, but there wasn’t an option to reply. I think it automatically cuts off the comment threads after a few comments have been posted. Anyway, yeah they are pretty chalky here and they taste quite sharp and acidic!

    1. Haha, so true we need all the coffee we can get! I definitely get grumpy! I had to fast for bloodwork in January and I was so sad I couldn’t have coffee first thing. Actually… I think I was just angry. I told Jimmy to watch out until I could get a cup after I had the bloodwork done! So yeah, totally did Jimmy a favor by getting us both a coffee maker 😉

I think Jimmy’s shop has a machine that cuts into steel with a laser! So her can type leters or shapes into a program and then it transfers it to the machine, which cuts into the steel! Don’t take my word 100% because sometimes I just can’t understand all he foes, haha!

Aww, so sweet your nephew is crawling! I am slightly terrified for that stage with Sadie!! I hope it’s fun for you!!

It sounds like we’re thinking of the same heart candy!

      1. Steel laser cutting sounds cool!

My nephew absolutely loves being able to crawl after Aimée, now he’s fully on the move. But Aimée isn’t quite so happy about it when he crawls after her and tries to grab her ears… She’s very tolerant but usually jumps on the sofa to escape my nephew’s reach. Is Sadie interested in your pets? I bet it’s cute to watch them interacting. 😊

      2. How sweet that Aimee is so tolerant of your nephew! I’m curious how our pets will be once Sadie is more mobile. Sadie is basically in love with Mavis! She smiles and laughs at her constantly! She loves Lola and Malcolm, too, but Mavis is definitely her special girl! It makes me so happy to see them all interacting and co-existing, haha 🙂

  6. Hahah gifts you can both benefit from are the best gifts, aren’t they? The new coffee maker looks so snazzy! The new sign looks awesome, go Jimmy! & I love love love that photo of Sadie. ❤ I've never tried a frozen cookie! Sounds interesting, I'm gonna have to give it a whirl. 😉

    1. YES!! I feel so bad buying them… yet so good! I’ll pass on your compliment about Jimmy’s sign to him! Thanks!

Frozen cookies are so good! I hope you enjoyed one if you gave it a whirl 🙂

  7. That coffee maker though! I literally have to wait until I get to work to have coffee most days (when I don’t spend $$ at starbucks or coffee bean, lol), only because that’s the only place I know that’s part of my routine that has a Keurig!
