A Parade, Dogs, and Vlogs

Hi! Whew, life has been full and busy and good lately.

The Parade

Jimmy and I spent Independence Day with our church family. Just like last year, we walked in a parade and handed out pens and candy. I think it was a great way to reach out to the community and hopefully see some new faces at church in the near future!

The Dogs

First and foremost, my sister and her husband got a puppy! He’s a golden retriever and they named him Indy.

Secondly, pet sitting has been keeping me busy! I’m pretty sure I’ve figured out over the past few years that the Fourth of July is the peak of the busy season for pet sitting. I have families on vacation, new clients, people wanting dog walking, and more.

My days revolve around dogs (and a few cats here and there!) and I absolutely love it. This week I’ve been spending time with five dogs, a cat, and a hermit crab. I even brought one of my clients to the parade with me on Independence Day!

It’s definitely a balancing act with pet sitting, working, and just keeping up with life in general, but I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love!

The Vlogs

I’m still enjoying filming vlogs here and there. My sister and I filmed a few together, which was a blast. I miss living with her! I also filmed one and discussed how I majorly embarrassed myself and basically detailed the day in the life of a pet sitter.

Tell me about your life lately!

  1. Aw it looks so fun to take care of animals, but I know it’s also tough work too. I did it for a summer and boy they can be a nuisance! I seem to just be working all the time, but I am in the home stretch and almost back to Ithaca. I cannot wait ❤ ❤ ❤

    1. Haha yes, it is tough work at times, but so rewarding!

I didn’t know you were going back to Ithaca! I will have to pop over to your blog and see if you posted about it!

  2. So much fun! Also, I just watched your most recent vlogs while baking so I feel like we’ve been hanging out all afternoon, haha! Oreo totally has the need to sniff me every time I come home after seeing another dog too. And I think it’s so cute that Malcolm and Lola play together! Oh, and Jimmy’s teeshirt with the eyeballs totally made me laugh when you opened his drawer.

HA! I bet that guy was so surprised to see you trying to get into his apartment, haha! Totally something I’d do! 😉

Your sister tag video was so cute! You are making me miss my sisters! Really all your sister videos are cute. We have an Osaka in Memphis too (though I don’t know if they are the same as yours) and their sushi is really good too! 🙂

    1. Aww, I love that! Thank you for watching the vlogs! I hope your baking went well 🙂

Isn’t Jimmy’s t-shirt creepy?! Every time I open that drawer I’m always scared for a second, haha. I’m glad I’m not the only one who would accidentally break into someone’s apartment, haha!!

Speaking of Osaka, I totally want sushi now!

  3. I lovee your sunglasses, where are they from?!? Congrats to your sister and BIL, Indy is soo adorable I just wanna snug him ❤ ❤

    xo, JJ

    1. Thanks, Jenny!! They’re Oakley sunglasses! I got them at a beach shop in Georgia, but I’m sure plenty of other places sell them!!

Isn’t Indy the cutest little nugget?! I just want to hold him forever haha.

  4. Aww, puppies!! ❤ Indy is gorgeous! I love golden retrievers – they're so gentle.

It sounds like pet sitting is really keeping you on your toes. It's great that you're getting new clients and that you get to spend so much time outside. I love my job, but spending so much time in the office is hard sometimes!
