Snapshots From the Outer Banks Part II

As promised, I have a few more pictures and details from our trip to the Outer Banks earlier this month!

Husband and wife with baby girl in Outer Banks

We stayed from a Wednesday to a Monday and were able to squeeze in a lot of fun. My dad and Jimmy went fishing off of the Avalon Fishing Pier and caught ten skate, we all went shopping (Sadie made out really well and got spoiled with a stuffed animal from her Pap Pap and lots of clothes from Grandma!), visited Jeanette’s Pier, Jimmy got a haircut, and I got a pedicure! It was downright luxurious 🙂

We went out to eat for dinner each night, which was such a treat. Sadie was just starting solids, so she enjoyed lots of shrimp, bread, and veggies. My mom also fed her gourmet breakfasts (pancakes, eggs, fruit, etc.!) each morning, which was adorable. We also visited our home away from home church, Son Rise Church of Christ, on Palm Sunday and it was great!

It was truly such a wonderful, relaxing, and fun trip. We felt so incredibly blessed to spend time as a family with my parents and can’t wait to do it all again in the future!

Bring on the Birds

I have a confession to make. I think I’m turning into a bird lady.

Bird seed, hummingbird nectar, and suet cakes from Rural King

I mentioned in my April currently post that I had bought some bird seed and was looking forward to filling our hummingbird feeder, too. Something clicked and I have just been so excited about birds lately, lol (I think that’s the dorkiest thing I’ve said on my blog to this day).

We have two gorgeous dogwood trees in our backyard that I can see from our kitchen sink. We have a bird feeder and suet cake holder in one of the trees and we’ve been seeing cardinals, red-winged black birds, a wood pecker, and…

Ducks under bird feeder

Ducks!

We’ve been seeing two ducks in our yard almost every day since Resurrection Sunday. I’m pretty sure I scared Jimmy the first time I saw them. I was standing at the window and was like JIMMY! YOU HAVE TO COME HERE RIGHT NOW AND SEE THIS!

Poor guy probably thought something was seriously wrong or that it was way more exciting than two ducks eating bird seed in our backyard.

So yeah, that’s where I’m at right now. Really excited about birds 🙂
