I’m back with another week’s worth of groceries! This week had a fun twist: I went to the farmer’s market along with our usual Aldi and Walmart stock up.
Here’s everything that made it home with us this week!
Farmer’s Market Finds 🍎
Our family friend, Bernadette, went to the farmer’s market with us on a Friday night and we had so much fun shopping at all the local vendors. It was hard not to buy from every single stall. There were so many unique local products like honey, baked goods, soaps, spices, meat, and vegetables.
I tried to stick with things I know we use and needed but also grabbed a few fun things like microgreens and a spicy seasoning! Some things I picked up definitely cost more than I would pay at Aldi or Walmart, but other things were cheaper (the Swiss chard for $1.50!), so I’m saying it balanced out. 😉
Brussels Sprouts – $5.00
I roasted these with oil and spices.
Eggplant – $3.00
For my weekly ratatouille!
Ever Crisp Apples – $6.00
I used these in an apple pie. They were just okay. I think I’ll stick with Granny Smith next time!
Ground Beef – $8.00
Can’t wait to try this. It’s more than I would usually spend on beef, but I have a feeling the quality is better than Aldi or Walmart. 😉
Spicy Seasoning – $6.00
I’ve been putting this on everything and I love it!
Swiss Chard – $1.50
I couldn’t believe how much Swiss chard I got for $1.50!
Arugula Microgreens – $6.00
These were a little pricey but so great.
Banana Peppers -$1.50
I sautéed these with the Swiss chard!
Farmer’s Market Total: $37.00
Walmart: Snacks and Soup 🍲
This week’s Walmart trip was focused on grabbing some inexpensive snacks and a can of soup. Simple and easy!
Applesauce Pouches (24 count) – $10.27
Dakota and Sadie both eat these!
Oyster Crackers – $1.47
An inexpensive cracker for the kids to munch on!
Fruit & Grain Bars (8 count) – $2.13
Dakota absolutely loves these. They’re crumble city, though. 😆
Diced Peaches (4 count) – $2.37
These are nice to have on hand if we don’t have any fresh produce!
Chicken Noodle Soup (18.6 oz) – $1.74
Another pantry staple that’s nice to have on hand in a pinch!
Walmart Total: $17.98
Aldi Stock Up 🛒
I’ve been digging Aldi lately! Their prices are pretty amazing. This week, I needed to restock some baking items and also grabbed proteins and pantry goods like oatmeal beef sticks.
Brown Sugar – $2.05
Baking stock up! I also use this when I make oatmeal.
Granulated Sugar – $3.19
Another baking stock up!
Salmon – $9.82
My usual salmon purchase!
Chicken Thighs (2.97 lb) – $8.88
I marinated these and then grilled them.
Zebra Cakes – $3.12
These have been the special treat of choice for Sadie and Mordecai!
Bananas – $0.32
Just needed a couple of bananas for snacking!
Chicken Nuggets – $6.59
These caught Mordecai’s eye as we were in the store so I grabbed them instead of the “normal” shaped chicken nuggets. 🤣
Flour – $1.95
Baking restock! I plan to make a cherry pie soon.
Oatmeal – $3.99
I use this to make four ingredient energy bites and oatmeal.
Beef Sticks – $2.79
I bought these for snacks, and as you can see, the box was opened before I could take a picture, haha. Dakota inhaled two of these as soon as we got home from the store!
Aldi Total: $42.70
Grand Total: $97.68
There you have it! Under $100 for three different grocery stops! I was especially happy with our farmers market finds this week, and I’m still not over getting that much Swiss chard for $1.50. 😂

Farmers market finds have been my favorite lately. Great haul!
They’re the best!! Thank you!
oooo I’ve been wanting to get to the farmers market for some fresh corn on the cob and some peaches!! Love your finds!
Oh yum! If I knew, I totally would have grabbed you some!
