So It Begins and I Forgot

Well, it’s beginning. Niva is starting to blow her coat. We’ve gone from a somewhat manageable amount of fur to clumps of it everywhere and a constant need to brush Niva and vacuum every surface in our house. Such is life with a husky! It’s worth it.

Ready for the crazy Niva story of the week? Yesterday Sadie opened our front door and Niva slipped out and ran around our neighborhood chasing a rabbit. Jimmy caught up to her just as she caught the rabbit. When we got to her, she swallowed the rabbit whole and then let Jimmy grab her collar so he could bring her home 🥴

We thought we would for sure find a regurgitated rabbit in our house this morning but nope. She just enjoyed her evening snack and kept it down.

Last year in late summer or early fall, I took the kids to a local park. When we pulled in, there was a cameraman there. He and another guy were working to capture pictures of the playground equipment for the equipment’s brand. They were getting fresh pictures for their yearly catalog and wanted to have photos of kids playing on the playground so I signed a wavier and Sadie did an impromptu photoshoot and loved it so much. Classic Sadie.

Fast forward to this spring and I came across some of the photos. I totally forgot about that little photoshoot. Sadie is now in a catalog and we’re all on the brand’s social media 😂

We spent some time at Jimmy’s work this week. Sadie got to help him out in the shop.

I worked on highland cow cupcakes for my friend’s baby shower.

Saturday was the baby shower and my friend’s husband brought two of their highland cows to the shower as a surprise! I’ve been to a few baby showers in my life and this was definitely the most unique!

It’s Sunday as I type up this post. My niece, Remi, turned five-years-old today! If you’ve been reading my blog for that long, you may remember when Sadie gained two cousins (Remi and Caroline) in five days. It was definitely highlight for our extended family that week in 2019!

This upcoming week is another busy one! Mordecai has his 18 month check up, Niva and I have a therapy visit, I’m getting my hair cut, doing a video interview about where I gave birth to the kids, and celebrating my niece, brother-in-law, and Jimmy’s birthday.

What are you doing this week?

  1. I love the park pics!
Lol, Niva and the rabbit 😬. My dog doesn’t hunt at all. Our cat tried to “teach” him by dropping a rat into his outdoor bed so he could learn how to contribute to our household. There’s never a dull day, being a pet owner!

  2. Niva is crazy! Love those playground pics how awesome! I bet Sadie loves being at work with her Dad and I bet Decky will grow up enjoying this too. The Highland Cow Cookies are so creative!

Thanks For Sharing, Love ❤️ You!

  3. The way I audibly *gasped* at the part about Niva eating a rabbit WHOLE!!! That sounds wild! Even for Niva! Hahaha but I’m glad you didn’t have to clean up any puked up rabbit guts! 😜

  4. Niva – you never cease to amaze me!! You’re one crazy girl that’s for sure!

I’m still so thrilled that you guys are in a catalogue!! How crazy – talk about being in the right place at the right time!

The cupcakes for the shower are absolute perfection! You definitely are blessed with an incredible gift of baking and decorating – your creativity is exceptional – so so so proud of you!

    Love you,

    Madre
