We have a new door mat and, well, it’s accurate.
I could vacuum and lint roll our couches multiple times a day and I’d still find myself covered in dog hair.
I had a craving for one of my favorite types of soup: kimchi jjigae. We usually order it from a local Korean restaurant, but I decided to try my hand at making it myself.
It ended up being easier than I expected! I didn’t have all the authentic spices and add-ins, but it was still delicious and spicy 😊
How do you feel about spicy food spice-wise and heat-wise? I like a lot of spices and I also like heat!
We put up a little shelf in our bathroom and I’m having so much fun decorating it. It’s nice to have a little extra storage, too!
I sent my mom the above picture and she was cracking up that every single item of makeup I own is sitting in that black pencil cup. I just don’t know much about makeup so I don’t have a lot 🤷♀️
I started planning Sadie’s birthday party! She requested cotton candy as a treat for her and her friends, so we are now the proud owners of a little cotton candy machine and I can’t wait to play with it.
Speaking of Sadie girl, we found a cicada shell in our yard and that prompted a research session. We drew pictures of cicadas, listened to the sound they make, and looked up the answers to all her questions about them.
Honestly, I was just glad to learn they don’t bite 😂
I wonder if Sadie’s little research project means she’s ready to dive back into school for the year? I’m not quite there yet. I don’t want summer to end! Regardless, we will be starting homeschool kindergarten on Labor Day.
It feels like just yesterday we started our homeschool journey with Abeka Preschool for 2s and now, three years later we’re starting kindergarten. We’ve used a different curriculum each year (Abeka, Horizons, and Sonlight) and this year we’re mostly using The Good and The Beautiful.
I’ve been doing a ton of baking lately. Surprise! LOL. We had friends over one night this week, so I made an Oreo dessert. I also had an order for gluten free rainbow cookies. Jimmy has been requesting that I make a pot pie with this crust recipe, so I made that happen as well!
Yesterday was a baking day. Actually, I’m still not 100% done (probably shouldn’t be blogging right now 😂). Anyways, I baked 120 cupcakes for my nephew’s birthday party! They’re chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla and I decorated them with a baseball theme.
Okay, thank you for following this meandering post through my camera roll and brain! I better get back to those cupcakes 😉

I love the black cat TP roll photo, I need one of those. You own more make up than me, I currently own nothing (other than chapstick.) If I do use makeup it’s usually just a bit on my eyebrows and a bit of mascara. I’ll usually use my moms eyebrow stuff, but my own mascara. I haven’t needed makeup since February soooo…I have none. 🤣
Yummy treats! I’d love to be your Guinea pig neighbor.
The second I saw it I fell in love, haha. I can’t resist black cat-related items. They bring me so much joy!
I love that you have zero makeup! You are my minimalist inspo!
I wish we were neighbors. We could hike and bake and our cats would probably be frenemies because that’s how cats are 😂
Definitely like foods with a bit of heat: I have multiple tins of Cajun seasoning in the cupboard. And discovering horseradish paste was a game changer for me 🙂
Ohhh, horseradish paste?! I need to look that up right now!
