I’m Impressed

I have to say, I am quite impressed with Jimmy’s hair braiding skills! We were waiting to see if any kids would come to our Bible school class at church on Sunday morning, and I asked him to braid my hair while we waited. Totally normal, right? 😉

Simple braid in blonde hair

I told him that I want him to learn how to do french and fishtail braids next!

Since I’m on the topic of impressive things, I’m just going to keep going! Here’s what else has been impressive in my life recently.

Brown and white parti colored cocker spaniel puppy kissing girl

Mavis has been letting me hold her and pick her up more and more! After she was attacked, I thought she was always going to growl and yelp when being held. It has definitely taken a lot of patience to help her become comfortable and even learn to enjoy touch again, but it has been worth the wait.

Outer Banks

My parents went to the Outer Banks and ran a 5k in 30 minutes! Plus, I think their selfie skills are pretty impressive 😉

Cocker spaniel puppy, chocolate lab, and black lab sitting together

I was able to get these three chickas to sit together and look at the camera for a picture!

Malcolm and Jimmy took a nap together. Malcolm is usually running around like a wild man, so it definitely surprised us that he sat still long enough to snuggle with his papa!

Jimmy and I were able to get our Christmas pictures and cards ordered. I found a Groupon for portraits at JCPenny, and another for Christmas cards, so I got that all taken care of! Does anyone else love Groupon?

Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is just beautiful. I’m continually impressed by the views of the city every. single. day.

Petco Positive Dog Training Puppy II Class

Last but not least, I’m impressed with Mavis’ obedience! She is doing great in her puppy classes. The trainer has us doing some of our work in the aisles for extra distractions. I even have some footage of her in action near the end of my most recent vlog and on Instagram.

What has impressed you lately?

  1. Way to go Jimmy! I once asked Alex to braid my hair since I got a shot and couldn’t move my arm (not dramatic at all…;) and it was no where near as good as Jimmy’s braid. I’m so glad to hear Mavis is better about being held after the attack! You and Jimmy must be so excited about that. One thing that has impressed me lately is my job. I’m constantly learning new things which is awesome.

    1. Hahah, not dramatic at all!! You’ll have to have Alex brush up on his braiding skills if you get another shot in the future! And yes, we are soo excited Mavis is getting better about being held! It’s such a relief and makes life a lot easier!

Yay for learning new things at work!!

  2. Your hair looks awesome! I’m glad that Mavis is doing better after the attack, I know that really shook you guys up.

Groupon is hit or miss. I’ve had a few bad experiences, sadly (I just had one with a massage). For the most part, the products are good experiences though, and so are the restaurants- and I think I would have had a bad experience at this massage place even if I hadn’t booked through Groupon, so it’s not really their fault anyway.

    1. Thank you, Amy! It really did shake us up! I’m so, so glad she is doing better and better each day. We are getting there, thankfully!

Aww, so bummed you had some bad experiences with Groupon in the past! Well, with the actual places, not Groupon itself lol. I guess we can’t win them all, huh?

      1. I still buy Groupons! Just never going back to that place. I have had only one negative experience and bought a TON of groupons over the years so that says something.

  3. My older brother can brain hair too! I was so surprised when he did mine one time in high school. What a guy! I’m impressed with my coworkers and staff at work. Lately, they have kept me in such high spirits and it is such a blessing 🙂

  4. wow!! Jimmy’s braid is amazing — I wish my hair was longer so someone could braid it 24/7.
I am also so amazed at how awesome both YOU and May May are doing with her training. Your patience is so important, and will DEF get you ready for parenting 🙂
    Love you beautiful
    Madre

  5. Jimmy did a great job with your hair, haha! That picture of Pittsburgh looks beautiful. I personally prefer city views in the evenings/night 🙂

  6. Good job, Mavis! She is such a smart puppy! And I’m so glad that she is letting you hold her again. So sweet. You guys have been so good with her on that! And good job to Jimmy on the braid!
