I have been called a clean freak by my family and friends. While it can be seen as a good thing, Jimmy would probably tell you it borders on annoying 😉
I’m sharing my favorite cleaning products here on the blog today. Most of these are self-explanatory, but I will make comments on the products that are particularly great!
For the floor

Dyson vacuums are amazing. Yes, the price tag is steep, but it’s 100% worth it. Jimmy and I bought ours on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond and used a 20% off coupon, so we got ours fairly cheap (for a Dyson, ha).
If you have hardwood or laminate floors, the Holloway House Quick Shine is awesome! It makes our scratched up floors look so shiny. When I don’t have time to mop, I like using the Swiffer wet mop. It’s quick and easy.
For the bathroom

I don’t have a lot of products in the bathroom category because I use castile soap mixed with water in a spray bottle to clean our shower, bathroom counter, and toilet.
For the toilet bowl, I love the Seventh Generation toilet bowl cleaner. It smells great, and I love that it doesn’t have a lot of harsh chemicals. The Magic Erasers really are magic.
For the kitchen
Heinz White Vinegar // Method Gel Dish Pump // Weiman Cook Top Scrubbing Pads // Pledge Revitalizing Furniture Oil Spray // Weiman Glass Cook Top Cleaner & Polish // Scotch-Brite Dobie All-Purpose Cleaning Pads // Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish // Cascade Complete Dishwasher Detergent
I’ve tried other dishwasher detergents, but there is nothing like Cascade. It’s also pricier than other brands, so I buy the powder (which I think is the most economical choice?!) from Jet.com, which I’ve talked about before. I’m a huge fan of the Method dish soap. I don’t know why, but the fact that it’s in a pump bottle makes my life easier, haha.
The Scotch-Brite cleaning pads are my favorite because they never seem to get smelly or gross. I use the Pledge Restore and Shine on our (wood) kitchen table and it makes it nice and shiny, plus it smells amazing. Good old vinegar is what I use to clean our countertops. I put it in a spray bottle with water and essential oil and it’s a lot cheaper than buying all-purpose cleaner.
Laundry and Miscellaneous
Dryer balls // Swiffer Dusters // Ultra Downy Infusions Fabric Softener // Tide Free & Gentle
I love using dryer balls to make our towels fluffy. I literally stop and smell the Downy fabric softener every single time I use it. The botanical mist scent is heavenly! Tide Free & Gentle is my go-to laundry detergent because it’s free of dyes and perfumes and still gets our clothes clean.
So there you have it, all my favorite cleaning products. I like a mix of natural and chemical-laden products. I’m always trying to find the least expensive, most natural way to clean. Sometimes it means creating my own all-purpose cleaners… and sometimes it means buying the chemical stuff. It’s a work in progress 😉

I just cleaned my bathroom completely this morning (I ain’t running so I have to do something with the extra time aha) and I LOVE Ka-Boom for getting mold and mildew off my shower. It was getting bad and I tried everything to scrub it off. Finally, I saw this product and it worked!
I also bought a vacuum on Sunday and HOLY SMOKES THEY ARE EXPENSIVE! I didn’t need one as awesome as yours #apartmentlife so I bought the cheapest one, a Dirt Devil. Works like a charm, I finally got the rice off my floor hahaha
I definitely need to try out Ka-Boom! I’m going to pick it up when I run out of my regular stuff! The thing we deal with is rust in our tub. Jimmy works with metal all day, then he takes a shower and the metal rusts in the bathtub, haha. Welder probs!
Yeah, vacuums are so pricey. Ugh!
I don’t especially love cleaning but I love for things to be clean. I enjoyed your favorites round-up! Have you ever tried Norwex products? They’re kind of expensive but usually last a very long time and are really effective. The company focuses on reducing the number of harsh chemicals in the home.
I know exactly what you mean! Sometimes I get in a cleaning mood, but other times I just want everything to be clean and don’t want to do the work, haha.
I haven’t tried anything by Norwex, but I think I remember you mentioning Norwex on your blog? I’m going to go on their website right now!
Girl all the power to you! I wish I was as adamant on being squeaky clean like you! There’s just not enough time in the day for me to want to come home after work and clean lol Luckily Andrew and I keep it pretty clean as is anyways but I do like to go through and be thorough at times. I had no idea about dryer balls though?!?! Sounds amazing I may have to sneak that into my next Target trip. Although laundry is my least favorite task, I loveee the smell of fresh clean laundry!!!

Aww, thanks Jenny! I know what you mean… after a long day it just stinks to clean. Working from home has definitely upped my cleaning game lately since I can throw in a load of laundry any time or straighten up the kitchen really quickly while on phone calls.
Definitely be on the lookout for dryer balls next time you go to Target! They’re pretty neat! I like laundry, except the folding part. That’s the worst, haha!
I’m with you on the cleaning frenzies, I get anxious if my spaces are a mess. I use a lot of homemade stuff, but that Dyson. I NEED.
Yeeees. I feel like I can’t think straight unless everything is clean and clutter-free. The Dyson is amazing. I highly recommend it!
We got a rechargeable Dyson this year and I LOVE IT! It’s so handy for sweeping up a little mess without having to drag a big vacuum out!

THIS IS SO UNCANNY! We use almost identical cleaning products!!!! Haha! I love our dyson and the swiffer sweeper wet in particular. AND the downy infusion are the bomb. I used to get the Meijer version back in Indiana because they were cheaper, but obviously they don’t have that here!

I have dryer balls like those and I love them! I’m with you on liking things to be really clean! I’ll be honest, though, since being pregnant I definitely don’t clean as much. I mean, our house is kept tidy still and we still keep up with dishes and laundry and making the bed and such. But cleaning floors used to be something I did at least twice a week (because Oreo sheds and tracks so much stuff in). These days… it’s more like once a week or every 10 days, haha! I imagine I’ll have another rude awakening when Baby Girl arrives. 😉
