Another Garden Update

Sooo, does anyone want me to mail them some cucumbers or zucchini?

Cucumber and Zucchini Harvest

Our garden is out of control and we’re loving every minute of it! It certainly doesn’t look as neat as it did when we first planted it, but I wouldn’t trade the constant weeding, harvesting, and watering for the world.

So far, Jimmy and I have harvested around 50 cucumbers and zucchini, a few heads of broccoli, and two bunches of swiss chard. Thankfully we’ve been able to share our abundance with friends and family or else we would have a lot of wasted produce.

We’re waiting on our peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes to ripen. We had two grape tomatoes that turned red the other day and they were amazing. I am pumped to cook with eggplant and Jimmy has been checking on the peppers each day because they’re one his favorite foods to dip in hummus.

If it’s summertime where you live, did you plant a garden?

If so, how is it doing?

  2. Ah! We need to be neighbors so I can benefit from all your hard work. 😉 Congrats on your garden, friend!

  3. Awesome!! I got your card today where you talked about filling a sink with the zucchini and cucumber harvest. 🙂 You guys have such green thumbs on the garden front. Those peppers are looking fantastic!

Our garden isn’t flourishing, unfortunately. It is just so hot here. Everything is looking a bit droopy and sad. 😦

    1. Thanks, Amy!! So glad you got the card, too! I can’t wait to eat the peppers. And eggplant 🙂

Sorry your garden isn’t flourishing (yet?!) due to the heat.

  4. Oh my GOODNESS! This is so amazing! Did y’all have any experience gardening before you planted this? Will and I are moving into our first home and I sooo want to start one! But it’s really intimidating!!

By the way, I hope you roast your zucchini! It is so delicious that way 🙂

    1. Thanks, Brittany! We did a garden together last year, but haven’t had too much experience with a full scale garden. I hope you get to start one when you and Will move into your home. So exciting! I hope you blog about the experience!

As a first step, you could always do a container garden or a windowsill garden with herbs!

And yum, I love roasting zucchini!! I usually do it on the grill, but now I want to roast it, haha. It’s also so great made into zucchini bread :).
