One of my favorite things to do is look back though past events and times in my life. I thought it would be fun to do a recap of all of the wonderful (and not so wonderful) things that went on for me this summer.
May
I shared some articles that I wrote for the school newspaper, my brother moved back to Pittsburgh, and I made Jimmy an Oreo cake for his birthday. Yum.
I answered 12 questions about purity rings and got super muddy at MuckFest MS Pittsburgh.
June
My family went on vacation to the Outer Banks and we rode horses on the beach. That was definitely one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
I also wrote a super random poem about swimming.
July
I took two weeks off of blogging and social media. It felt pretty amazing. I also competed in a triathlon and began working for my parent’s real estate brokerage during that two week period.
Hannah did some modeling for my blog and I struggled through a dry socket after having my wisdom teeth removed. Worst time of my life. I also baked 763 cookies for my brother’s wedding during the week that I had a dry socket.
My brother married the love of his life, Racquel. They’re such a beautiful couple!
Hannah got the cutest puppy for her birthday and I made a lot of pickles! The pickle recipes can be found here and here. I promise they’re super simple.
Jimmy proposed to me. That was hands down one of the best moments of my life! What a blessing.
Last but not least, I started a crazy busy semester at good ol’ Penn State.

So that’s my summer in an nutshell. I had my ups (getting engaged, watching my brother get married, and baking a ton of cookies) and my downs (wisdom teeth removal+ dry socket).
All in all, I’d have to say that it was a wonderfully perfect summer.
I’m sad to see my summer break end, but I’m also extremely excited to see what God has in store for the future!
How was your summer?
Sounds like you’ve had an amazing summer! So many awesome events and a lot of fun as well! 🙂
It was definitely an amazing summer!
You definitely had a huge summer between the teeth, wedding, cookies, and of course the proposal :). I’ve really loved reading about everything too. Best of luck this Fall with school starting back and with getting everything ready for your own wedding 🙂
I’m so glad you’ve liked reading about everything! Thank you for the good luck wishes… I need ’em!
Love the summer recap!! I’m glad that the good stuff outnumbers the bad (silly wisdom teeth and dry socket!).
Yes, the good most definitely outnumbers the bad! Silly wisdom teeth and dry socket indeed!
This was in fact an amazing summer for you!! Fall will be EVEN better!
Thanks!! I think fall will definitely be amazing! Any season with PUMPKIN as the star is going to be epic in my opinion 😉
WOAH. You’re brother and sister-in-law are a good looking couple. I am so jealous of her blue eyes! And there are always goods and bads! I’m just glad you are finished with all of the wisdom teeth pain. At least you don’t have to worry about it anymore!
I agree! They are going to have cute children!!
I’m soo glad the whole wisdom teeth saga is over, too! What a nightmare.
SUCH a good summer! Well despite the whole wisdom teeth thing. But everything else – wonderful! 🙂
Yeah, the wisdom teeth were a blip in the radar of awesomeness!
Yay summer!!! Love that oreo cake!! wow
Yay for summer is right! I love it 🙂
I’m so glad your summer went well! My summer was just as eventful and fun 🙂
Yes, yours was pretty amazing! It was fun to follow it through your blog!
Definitely quite the exciting end of the summer for you! I love the blogging/social media break…definitely thinking about doing that in the future.
I can honestly say that it helped me in so many ways! Sometimes you just need a break!
Can’t believe you’re getting married in June! You will have such an exciting year planning the wedding. Sorry to hear about your wisdom tooth, but it’s good to have that hassle behind you.
I can’t believe it either! I am SO excited!
Amazing summer! I cannot wait to read about the wedding planning!
Thank you, I can’t wait to share!
Oh my gosh, you have had such a crazy busy, amazing, life changing summer! Even though we have both taken breaks from the blogging world, I’m glad that we were able to stay in touch via FB 🙂
Yes! Definitely life changing!! I’m so glad we are FB friends, too! I love creeping on you 🙂
