Hey there. Sorry I haven’t blogged much lately. My life has been busy the past few weeks. Busy in a good way, though!
What’s going on in my life:
1. School started.
2. I’m getting married in June.
3. Jimmy and I need to buy a house or rent an apartment by June.
4. Work is busy. My dad’s real estate business has a huge open house extravaganza coming up in a few weeks.
After a pretty low-key summer break, I feel like my head is spinning with all of the things I have to do in the next few days, weeks, and months. I’m so happy, though. Over the moon happy. And excited for everything going on in my life right now!
This semester will probably be my busiest semester ever for a few reasons:
-I’m the president of the student newspaper club and the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper. So many responsibilities.
-I’m completing my senior research project this semester.
-I’ve got a few tough courses on my schedule… like mass media law. Oh boy.
My motto? One day at a time!

Some pictures of my life lately…
People keep thinking that I have two sisters. Nope… that’s my mom in the middle.
I’ve been enjoying what’s left of summer as much as possible.
I met a bald eagle at Pittsburgh’s aviary. It was massive!
Lola and Brandy are best buds. And I love coffee. And bright flip flops.
Well, that’s about all I have to say for now.
I should probably get back to working on my senior research project. I’m doing a content analysis of the Livestrong Foundation’s response to Lance Armstrong’s admission of doping in January 2013. It’s an interesting topic, but the actual project is hard work!
Have you ever completed a research project? What was the topic?
I’m sooo excited for all the things going on in your life! I couldn’t think of a better person to receive all these blessings! I love your motto of one day at a time, I’m going to start telling myself that!
Aww, shucks! Thank you! I am really excited and I do feel SUPER blessed about everything going on. And yes, one day at a time really works! Sometimes I even break it down… one hour at a time.. one class at a time.. one step/mile at a time.. etc! It really puts things into perspective!
I did a few research projects in college and one was about the positives and negatives of eating dark chocolate 😀 Rather fitting, right?
You have a lot to LOOK FORWARD to in the next few months! Do not get too overwhelmed about the house situation. Considering your family is in the real estate business, I’m sure you have a lot of people who can help you out!
You are so awesome for doing a research project on the positives and negatives of dark chocolate! SO epic.
You’re right about the house situation… I’m definitely in good hands! We just need to figure out a location. That’s going to be tough because we live so far apart!
I wouldn’t worry too much about the house/apartment situation. You have until June, and most apartment complexes really don’t want you to apply or can’t tell you anything until 60 days or less from your proposed move in date because they have to have someone give a notice of moving out to know when they’ll have a unit available. Plus, you are in college, and a lot can happen between now and then, like getting a job in a certain area and wanting to live near the job, etc. So honestly, my only advice for that this far out would be to think about places you want to live if you do move, or areas/neighborhoods you like locally.
Good luck with school, newspaper, and wedding planning. I seriously think that the school newspaper is one of the best activities to be involved in for anyone- not only do you get good writing samples and experience, but it’s really a GREAT way to network which is what it really takes to get a job.
Yeah, you’re right about housing and stuff! Our biggest struggle is going to be figuring out WHERE we will live. Ugh! He wants to live by his family and job and I want to live by my family and our church. Honestly, it makes the most sense to live by him, though. I guess marriage is about compromise, huh?! I’m learning already 😉
Yay for the school newspaper! Love it! Most of the time.. haha.
your head should be spinning! ah married in june, I am just so happy for you. I hope you guys find a place you like it is so hard to find a place these days
Yup, it’s spinning HARD, haha! Thank you… I am so happy, too!
You should enjoy this moment in your life. I can only imagine how awesome it is. You and Jimmy are going to be so great living together and I’m so happy for you and your wedding.
You’re so right, Hollie. I always forget to “enjoy the moment” so many times in my life, you know? It’s easy to lose sight of things.
Thank you… we are so excited and happy!
Yay for you getting married, and awwww how adorable Brandy is! Just the cutest little thing:-)
I hope you´ll write about the wedding planning, would be so much fun to read!
Yay is right! Woo hoo!
I just love Brandy. I think she’s so adorable, too!

I agree! They were all fun to take 🙂
There is so much awesome in your life right now! Congrats the editors position! I always thought that would be fun to do.
Agreed! I am loving all of the awesome!
Your mom does look so young!! June is the BEST month to get married!! 🙂
It blows my mind! Sometimes I’ll see her somewhere and mistake her for someone much younger! Yay for June weddings!
Awe I am so happy for you and really did have a great summer. I am sorry about the dry sockets and I can only imagine how painful that was but wow what a summer.
Definitely an epic summer!!
Whew! I’m exhausted just reading about all the stuff you have to do. Best of luck! Remember to take some YOU time to run and relax. 🙂
I’m exhausted just thinking about it 😉
You’re right… I need to remember to take care of ME!
