Recent Eats

Hey.
a12
So, the last time I posted about my “recent eats” was in March. Not acceptable! I became busy during the last month of school and throughout my internship, so photographing food was the last thing on my mind.

Well, I have food photos now. Here are my recent eats!

a1
Pancakes galore.

a2
America on a plate.

a5
Dipping/Snack plate. Gotta love fresh corn!

a6
Taco, kale, mushrooms, and snap peas.

a7
My uncle owns a lot of livestock, and he gave my family some fresh beef, bacon, and pork sausage. So I made bacon-topped meatloaf.

a8
Grilled shrimp. Potato kebabs. Mushroom kebabs. Yum.

a9
I had too much time on my hands on Saturday and I tried to be really artsy with my food.

a10
Fried zucchini. I had to buy this zucchini, but if all goes well, my garden will produce more zucchini than I can handle. What a wonderful problem to have 😉

a13
Lettuce from my garden. Makes me so happy.

Now onto the cookies I’ve been testing out for my brother’s wedding in July…

a3
Peanut butter, pretzel, and milk chocolate chip cookies. YES.

a4
Oatmeal raisin cookies. Can’t go wrong with a classic.

a11
Lemon rings. I made half of the batch into rings and decided they were ugly, so I made half the batch into balls. I just don’t know. I think I might try a better looking lemon cookie recipe. Does anyone have a really good lemon cookie recipe?!

Well, that’s all the foodie pictures I have for now.

This week I get to do more baking because I’m working in the kitchen at my church for Vacation Bible School (also known as VBS) this week. Many of the women who work in the kitchen during VBS are older and “burned out,” so they’re training me to be in charge of the kitchen duties next year. Yikes! Responsibility!

  1. Have fun with VBS… I used to help out with that back in the day when I lived with my parents. I always took care of the kids though, they wouldn’t want me in the kitchen. It’s so cool that your garden has zucchini and other good stuff- we moved pretty late in the season so we don’t have one this year, but hopefully next year we’ll have a backyard garden like yours!

  2. yay for garden veggies! the lettuce looks amazing! and garden zucchini is usually always delicious!

    the cookies look fabulous!!

    have a great week, Allie!!!!!!!

  3. I love anything with a sweet and salty combo so the pretzel cookies sound delish! And corn on the cob has to be one of my favorite things to eat in the summer. I love to slice the kernels off the cob so it’s in chunks. I’m weird sometimes. haha!

  4. Oh joy. Now that you start posting pancakes, I’m getting jealous of your pancakes. Way to steal my thunder Allie. ha ha-I kid of course. All your eats look delicious as they always do and have fun!

  5. My mom just asked me to make cookies for my sister’s graduation party! I think I’ll go for peanut butter. Trying to stay classy 😎

  6. I’ve been on a pancake kick lately myself! I like making one large pancake for myself, and then topping it with dark chocolate PB or nutella. This morning I added some blueberries, and it was dee-licious :)! I love how you have a variety all in one plate though!

  7. Oh I hope you are having fun with VBS this week! You will do great at taking over the kitchen duties for next year! 🙂 The shrimp looks so great! I love shrimp and tossing on the grill makes it all the better! And the pancakes – love that you have options! Yum! 🙂
