Playing around

On Tuesday I spent the night at home for once (instead of swimming or going out, etc.) and it was very nice.

I spend the night ‘playing around’. My camera got played with, so did my sister, and my pots and pans in the kitchen. My homework also got played with … that’s boring though 😉

Playing in the kitchen…

Stuffed Peppers !

Also made some pumpkin bars, but this picture does no justice to them! They were baked and FROSTED<3

Playing with the camera

Playing some basketball with sister + neighbors

It looks like she made it, but she missed..bummer !!

It was a warm evening in Pittsburgh; 40 degrees!!

I had a very relaxing night at home playing in the kitchen ( + eating ), playing with my camera, sister, and neighbors. I didn’t swim-I did yoga and it felt GOOD.

The way I see it about missing swimming is this:

I love swimming. I truly do.

I know I am not going to the Olympics, therefore I do not expect perfection from myself. If I miss a practice, guess what? I miss a practice. If the weather makes me miss practice I can’t do anything about it, so why freak out?? If my times suck, no one is going to yell at me but myself… and I know I won’t yell at myself because I swim because I LIKE it. I swim for NO other reason.

It feels great and I enjoy it. If I don’t feel like going to practice, I usually won’t-i’ll relax with yoga 🙂 I feel as if I will swim for the rest of my life in some form or another, so what is the rush with making EVERY practice? I have many more times in my life to get in the water!

That is my view. No pressure. Just doing what I like to do 🙂

Bible verse of the day:

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1:2-3

Okay, I cannot believe it is already Thursday! Pittsburgh is expecting a BIG storm tonight. Wooo I shall provide pictures!!!

Any snow where you are?

What is your view on sports/missing a practice or workout?

  1. Oh my goodness, we have the exact same view on swimming. I have literally added over a minute in my thousand this season and I’m okay with it. I enjoy spending the time with my friends and seeing them do well. So what-my life isn’t over, I’m still doing well in other things. It’s nothing to cry about.

  2. I think your view on exercise is one that would benefit many to have. I’m kind of the same way – I do what I love because I love it and not for any other reason. If you pressure yourself into doing what you enjoy then the love you have for it could quickly turn to resentment.

We woke up to snow this morning but I don’t think it will last, it never does. 😦 Tomorrow it will probably be completely gone or almost gone.

  3. growing up me and my older brother played basketball everyday after school, i loved it. sometimes we would play into the night and hours would pass by without us noticing 🙂

i love a fun night in, especially to do some cooking! its so relaxing and fun 😀
