Library Fix, Work, and A Recipe

Sadie and I got our library fix while we were at my parents’ house! Their local library opened, so we hightailed it over there to read and check out some books.

In the evening, my dad and I got some work done for the family business.

We sat out on the back porch with my dad’s laptop and I was thinking about what a blessing it is to take work outside and to be able to call my family members co-workers. God has been so good to me.

Dad was focused to the max, lol.

Speaking of family, my sister was texting me last week and asking if I had any dinner ideas. I sent her my recipe for sweet and sour chicken (which I completely forgot about until I looked on my recipe page for ideas) and she made it and loved it!

She even sent me a picture, which totally has me craving sweet and sour chicken. Thanks a lot, Hannah 😉

In other news, I’m starting to make a packing list for when we go camping this summer and I realized just how much you have to pack to go camping.

We also put Sadie in the back of her baby carrier to see how she would like that if we go hiking and she seemed to enjoy it… for a few minutes, haha.

I can’t wait to see what she thinks of camping. Jimmy and I both went camping a lot when we were growing up, so we have wonderful memories of being out in the woods, making s’mores, and sleeping under the stars.

Have you been camping? Do you enjoy it?

What’s something I can’t forget to pack?

On The Side

Whew, life has been busy lately! Remember how I mentioned I’ve been getting orders for challah? I’ve gotten a few more and I’ve been having so. much. fun.

I’ve even experimented with new flavors like cinnamon raisin, cheddar jalapeno, and feta and sun-dried tomato. I have about a million more ideas floating around my head. I’m also hoping to make my first sourdough starter soon 🙂

Ready to hear about another super random side job I’ve gotten into? Sampling demos! I got hired by a company that sends people to stores like Wamart, Target, and local grocery stores to hand out samples for companies like Starbucks, Stacy’s Pita Chips, Chex Cereal, and more.

I know it’s totally random, and maybe a little goofy, but I seriously have a blast handing out samples and talking to customers!

Since I spend most of my days with an almost 14-month-old, it’s fun to talk to adults for a few hours, even if it’s just to ask if they want to try Starbucks Holiday Blend or Stacy’s Pita Thins! Plus, it’s nice to make a few extra bucks on the side.

Other fun things of note lately:
-Sadie is now using sign language! Thanks to everyone who told me to stick with it. The first time she signed “more” I got so excited! We’ve been enjoying this book on sign language (<–affiliate link) since she was a newborn, and I guess it has really helped!
-Jimmy and I are still trucking along with our kitchen renovation! We painted our back kitchen door yellow over the weekend and I love it.
-All the pets and Sadie love climbing on me when I sit on the couch and it’s so sweet!

Okay, one last fun thing of note. Sadie’s hair is long enough for pig tails! Never mind the fact that it took me about ten minutes to put them in her hair while she ran around the house 😉

Do you do anything “on the side?”
