Pregnancy Diary June 8th: Early Glucose and Anemia Testing

I had a 17 week appointment recently and the midwife wanted me to do an early glucose tolerance test and more extensive testing for anemia since I already had low hemoglobin. Her reasoning for both the early glucose test and extra bloodwork for anemia were due to my history.

I really didn’t like pricking my finger four times a day to test my blood sugar and avoiding carbs during my last pregnancy, so I was really hoping for a good glucose test!

Lab slip

I chugged the weird orange drink and spent an hour at the lab waiting to have my blood drawn. I was curious as to how I would feel after the test because last time I felt horrible. Like really awful! (more…)

Cupcakes, Bumps, and Double Pet Sitting

Whew, I am coming off a busy weekend! I did a lot of baking for my nieces’ joint birthday party (cupcakes, brownies, and cookies) and also pet sat my brother-in-law’s dog and our neighbor’s dog and cat.

Peach says hi! She has been with us since Thursday and will be picked up tonight. I’ll be watching our neighbor’s cat and dog for the rest of the week. Niva is in heaven with all the playtime! (more…)
