Should Be, A New Collar, and A Cousin Sleepover

I have a few precious moments of free time this morning and should be cleaning our bathroom, or making the bed, or getting some real estate work done. Instead, I found myself with a warm mug of coffee and my laptop.

Owning a husky has been an amazing experience so far. One of the only downsides of living the husky life is the fact that Niva is an escape artist.

When we first brought her home, I bought an ID tag for her collar, but it kept falling off. I finally decided to get a collar with her name and my phone number printed on it and I feel a little better should she run off again, lol.

You know how I mentioned I had some free time? It’s all thanks to my parents babysitting Sadie! Yesterday after the Youth Summer Days at the park, my mom offered to take her home for a sleepover and I was 100% on board with that idea.

My sister’s daughter, Caroline, slept over as well. They had their first cousin sleepover and I was told they followed each other all around the house and were playing and laughing.

When Sadie first met Caroline, I thought my heart would burst from happiness. Seeing them truly starting to interact each time they’re together is a whole other thing, though! Man, God is so good. ❤

What are your plans this weekend?

Are you close with your cousins?

Sleepover

Jimmy and I had our cousins stay the night on Friday so their parents could have a date night and it was seriously so much fun! Since we see the boys at church a few times a week, we’ve become really close and they kind of feel like little brothers to me. I’ve always wanted a younger brother, and now I feel like I have three 🙂

Cody, Josiah, and Nathan came over after Jimmy and I got home from work and we all cooked dinner together. We made pizza, pasta, soup, and sandwiches. Variety is the spice of life, right?!

After dinner, we all hung out for a bit with Malcolm and Lola. Then the boys played video games, and I fell asleep on the couch at like 9:30, haha. It was fun to hear all the banter going on between the boys about who was beating who at the video games!

We all went to bed around 11:30 and I think only two out of the three boys were woken up by Malcolm walking on them while they were trying to sleep. Not too bad 😉

For breakfast, Jimmy helped me cook pancakes and bacon.

After everyone ate, Josiah and Nathan perfected their gaming skills while Cody and I took Lola on a walk and then played a board game he created. Yes, you read that right, he created a board game! I got so into it and was bummed when their parents came to pick them up because I wanted to keep playing, ha.

I think it’s safe to say Cody could be creating board games for Hasbro in the future.

We hung out with the whole family (including baby sister, Leia!) and then they left and our house felt super quiet. The sudden silence must have made us realize how tired we were because we promptly took a nap, haha. I don’t know how parents keep up with their kids. It’s amazing.

All in all, it was such a fun sleepover and I can’t wait to do it again 🙂
