I love a good list. Here’s a post full of ’em! From post-vacation thoughts to books and everything in between.
Post-vacation thoughts
- We had such nice weather on our vacation. I was so thankful for that! We arrived home to Pittsburgh with flash flood warnings–eek!
- I love that feeling after coming home from a trip: unpacking, getting settled in, taking a shower, and sleeping in my own bed. I’m majorly going to miss Jimmy when he goes back to work, though!
- On our drive home, we found a nail in Jimmy’s tire and had to stop to put air in it. We were nervous we’d have to stop for the night on the side of the road but we made it home with very low tire pressure, lol.
- While we were away, Mordecai was acting super goofy and happy and he bit the back of my leg?! We quickly explained to him that he’s not allowed to do that but man did it hurt 😂
- I might have started an addiction with Sadie. I taught her how to mix oat milk with (a teeny tiny bit) of decaf cold brew and flavored coffee syrup and now she’s constantly like “Mom, can I make a coffee?” ☕️
Recipes I’ve been making
Food I’ve been obsessed with lately:
- Ratatouille
- Egg wraps: a tortilla with eggs, arugula, cheese, and hot sauce.
- Peanut butter: specifically honey peanut butter, Skippy, and toffee crunch peanut butter.
- Fruity Cheerios. Definitely bought them for Sadie and definitely steal some every day 😇
Other thoughts
- I loved starting a paint by number project. I am hoping to finish it soon.
- Sadie’s favorite book at the moment is No One Really Knows an Axolotl. It’s so cute!
- I’ve been loving perfume lately! My favorites are Volcano (notes of citrus), Inis (fresh/ocean smell), Baccarat Rouge (notes of saffron and jasmine), and Tocca Stella (floral/orange scent notes).
- We had to send Dakota’s vascular plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist a picture of her hemangioma with measuring tape held up to it and I told Jimmy “This is one of the weirdest parenting things I’ve had to do!” lol.
To do:
- Make our family’s summer fun list!
- Reorganize Sadie and Dakota’s room to remove any small objects that are baby-level because Dakota will be crawling around within the next several months.
- Get prepped for Sadie’s next school year: choose curriculum, purchase planner, and make plans for each subject area.
- Laundry. Forever and always.
- Plan a date with Jimmy for our 11 year wedding anniversary!
Home items we’ve been using daily:
- Handheld milk frother
- Bar keeper’s friend
- Electric salt and pepper grinders
- Bluetooth coffee maker
- Robot vacuum
- Book light
- All-purpose cleaning spray
- Himalayan salt lamp
