Back to my normally scheduled randomness! I was going through my camera roll and realized it was filled with different things each person in our family is loving. Let’s begin with little miss Sadie.
She has been working so hard in her computer coding classes. I also want to teach her some computer literacy, so we’ve been making a book together on the computer and she loves the graphic design and storytelling aspect of this activity.
Another thing she loves? Harry Potter Butterbeer Goldfish haha. I didn’t expect her to like them, but I’m glad she tried something new!
She and I bought them as a surprise for Jimmy since he’s a big Harry Potter fan (he has been loving playing Hogwarts Legacy lately… anyone else out there a gamer?!). Turns out he only got a few handfuls before Sader Tot and Mordecai took them over and gobbled them up, lol.
Sadie is also loving learning to sew! I’m pretty useless with fabric arts, but my mother-in-law bought Sadie a kit and is teaching her a few basics. I love her smile in this picture. She’s so excited!
How about Mordecai?
He has been thoroughly enjoying our Friday night bowling routine! Would you believe Sadie and Mordecai both bowled over 100!! He also loves what we do after bowling… ice cream time!
He’s also loving his big sis. These two play and play and I love to see it! One night, we had windy weather and they were out in the yard braving the elements and playing some sort of game with Sadie’s umbrella. So cute!
Jimmy has been loving any time he can spend doing house projects! He decided he wants to install a new garage door on our house and has been doing some prep work in our garage. I caught him in the zone!
He also wants to build the kids a sandbox this summer. I can’t wait for that! He’s been loving naps with Dakota on his chest, too!
Malcolm likes to lay on anyone napping. And he likes to lay in some crunched up positions. I found him laying like this (below) and checked to see if he was breathing because I thought there’s no way an animal can naturally lay like that?!
Turns out he was totally content and cozy 🤷🏼♀️
And Dakota? She has been sporting some new spring-y pajamas! That she promptly peed on after her little photoshoot haha.
And she loves her big sis. So much.
She definitely recognizes the kids’ voices and seems to be entertained by their craziness already 😉
How about me? I’m loving morning Bible study time in bed with coffee brought to me by the sweetest husband while I feed Dakota.
And these three cutie pies! Can’t get enough of them 🫶
And since I have three little ones to care for… I am also loving coffee. Specifically a new blend from Starbucks. Of course! I’m so predictable 😂
I am a big fan of coffee with citrus notes in it and the fact that this is a light roast makes these beans *chef’s kiss* good! I do have to watch my caffeine intake, though. I usually have a big mug in the morning and then we went to Starbucks as a family one day last week and I got another cup and Dakota was awake and fussy the rest of the day. Womp, womp. I felt so bad! So, now I try to keep it to 1.5 cups a day, lol.
Other things we’re loving lately:
- Sadie: matching spring pajamas with her little siblings 👚
- Mordecai: trying to play with Dakota’s hair 😂
- Allie: sunshine and warm weather when we’re blessed with it ☀️
- Jimmy: dreaming about house projects and updates 🔨
- Dakota: being two weeks old today 🎊
It’s Sunday as I type up this post! We’re headed to church and then Sadie is going to an ice skating birthday party. Tomorrow Jimmy is back to work… *gulp*. I am a little nervous to be in charge of three human beings all day, but I know we’ll get in a groove eventually! It will certainly be an adventure. I’ll report back soon to share how our first normal week is going!

Loving the family updates and the simple appreciation of life and Gods blessings that you have!
That makes me so happy reading your “random” updates!
You got the three child care down with a breeze!
Love ❤️ You
Dad
🙂
Aww, yay!! God has been so good to us. I am just in awe and so thankful for everything! I’m so glad you like our random updates. I never know who reads these random musings and actually enjoys them hahah. First day with all three kids went well! Now to do it for many more years, Lord Willing!
Love you so much!
Friday night bowling is a great tradition. Duncan has been wanting to go bowling and I think this is my sign.
Having a handy husband is literally the best. I was just thinking the other day how I’m thankful Duncan isn’t a businessman. Not that there’s anything wrong with businessmen…..butttt I like that Duncan can fix stuff and get his hands dirty. I suppose businessmen can be handy, but I think you get what I’m saying. I know Jimmy is the same way.
You posted a bit ago about how you went out somewhere with the red railings and Jimmy was like “oh we made those.” And how he points out his work…Duncan does the same thing. Every house we drive by that he’s worked in he will call out. “I replaced a toilet in this house”, “I unclogged a mainline in this house”, and then of course some more nasty jobs I’ll spare you. It’s cute though.
A lovely update of things you guys are loving. My stomach quivers just looking at that bag of coffee. 🤣
We have been loving it, especially when it’s that time of year where it’s chilly and night and we don’t want to sit around the house! This is your sign: go bowl with Duncan!!!
And SO true about having a man who is… well, manly and handy! It’s such a relief to *know* they know what they’re doing and can fix almost anything.
I love that Duncan can do the same with saying he has fixed issues at houses hahah. I am cracking up about the nasty jobs, too. What a champ!!
The Sunsera coffee is so good! I think Dakota’s stomach quivers when I drink it and she gets it in my milk, so she can relate to you 😂
W O W! These pics tho! I look at them and read your comments about each and I just tear up – thinking how blessed our family is to have such amazing son-in-laws and daughter-in-law that make our family so complete.
I am loving the fact that summer is definitely on its way (its inevitable!), which means fun days with all the kids at the beach house in OBX! They (and pap pap and I) all look so forward to it! Can’t wait for Dakota’s first visit!
Love you,
Madre
