Happy Friday! The weekend is upon us! What are you up to? I’ll be baking cupcakes for a local order and making Spiderman-themed chocolate covered pretzels for my nephew’s birthday party.
My week has mostly consisted of Oreos for Etsy orders, but we’ve also squeezed in some school (at Starbucks 🎉), co-op, training Niva, playing outside, and a few other fun things. How about some pictures? And one video of miss Niva showing off her skills 😊
Mordecai is at the age where it’s hard to do school with Sadie when he’s awake. I thought we could go to Starbucks and he could be contained in a highchair and eat while we worked. Instead, he inhaled his egg bites in less than a minute and then threw everything we gave him off the table and cried until I held him. When I held him, he wanted to crawl around and play. Sooo, next time I will either feed him more food or just figure we won’t be getting anything done 😜
He also discovered our laundry chute this week and is constantly giving me a heart attack! I’m so afraid he’s going to fall down in the chute and end up in our basement. Another heart attack moment happened when he and Sadie were in her bedroom and she started calling for me. I ran in and he was climbing her bed’s ladder. Eek!! Toddlerhood, man. Not for the faint of heart!
He’s just a little cutie pie. I can’t blame him for wanting to explore everything. That’s what kids do!
Niva is rocking her training. We practiced “sit” in sign language and she was able to do it at the school we visit for Deaf kids. Seeing their faces light up when they signed “sit” and she sat was worth all the training! Here’s video of her practicing with me.
I was in need of a new phone case, so I decided to get one with Sadie’s favorite animal on it. I casually put it on my phone when she wasn’t paying attention and then asked her to grab my phone and her smile was so big when she saw the axolotl!
As a parent, it’s a fun feeling to impress your child 😂
I don’t know who is smiling harder in the picture below, Sadie or Niva? What do you think?
Sadie also took a selfie with Malcolm. Funny story: we have a small cabinet where we keep a canister of his cat food and a canister of coffee beans. I cannot tell you how many times I have almost fed Malcolm coffee beans and Jimmy has almost brewed us a pot of cat food!!
Here’s a picture of me living my best life, shipping out Etsy orders and loving every second of it!
Speaking of baked goods, my sister has gotten into sourdough bread baking and is going to sell her bread! I told her I’d be the first customer. It was fabulous!
Okay, this post is getting long enough! I am off to make cupcakes and do the mom thing for the day. I will leave you with a picture of Sadie signing I love you 🥰

Well, it was my 60th birthday weekend, and also Lawson’s 3rd birthday! We celebrated with his family and went to Sea Base, and then to Longhorn for dinner! It was a great night, and I think he really enjoyed it 🙂
Han’s sourdough bread is AMAZING! I love the crunchy outside crust part – and the flavor is perfecto.
Deck is getting into a lot more lately — and CLIMBING EVERYTHING! He’s such a sweet & healthy little guy!
Sadie is so adorable with helping you, with your etsy business, and her lil bro (her pride and joy). She is such a mature, kind and happy girl. Good job mama and dad!
The weekend ended with bringing Lawson his gift on his (our) actual birthday – Sunday. He loved his John Deere “jeep” vehicle thingy. No clue what its actually called.
Love you,
Madre
You’re not 60! You’re 39 ya cuckoo!
I am addicted to Hannah’s sourdough. It blows store bought out. of. the. water.
