A Wedding Weekend

Hey hey! I hope everyone is having a great Monday. We had a fun weekend that included a bridal shower, sleepover, and wedding. It was packed with all sorts of fun!

Our Friday started off with Sadie’s one month check up at the pediatrician. She’s now 8lbs 13oz and growing right on track.

It never fails to amaze me that God created this sweet little life and sustains her. It’s just so mind blowing when I think about it.

As I mentioned in a recent post, our friends from church were having their bridal shower and getting married over the weekend.

Since our church was the venue and it’s near my parents’ house, we decided a sleepover at grandma and grandpa’s was in order.

My mom, Sadie, and I made a quick trip to Carter’s to pick up a dress for Sadie since she has grown out of most of her newborn dresses.

We hung out with Aunt Hannah for a bit while she studied for her next nursing school exam at my parents’ house.

In the evening, we headed to the shower! Sadie and I missed pretty much the whole thing because she was eating, but Jimmy said it was fun! We gave the bride and groom mixing bowls and baking supplies 🙂

We then headed back to my parents’ for some rest! In the morning, I cooked up breakfast and Jimmy and I made a trip to Starbucks to grab coffee for everyone.

My parents are big Dunkin’ fans but put up with our Starbucks-loving ways and said they enjoyed their drinks, haha.

After we were fully caffeinated, we headed to the wedding!

It was such a sweet ceremony, with a unity candle lighting, scripture reading, and exchanging of vows. I totally cried. Weddings are just so emotional!

After the ceremony, we headed back home and had a cozy little family evening. It was raining here in Pittsburgh, so we hunkered down and cuddled 🙂

Sunday was spent at church and hanging out around the house. It was a great weekend!

How was your weekend?

  1. Oh my goodness, that last picture of her! What big, gorgeous eyes! Sweet baby girl! ❤ Glad you guys had fun at the wedding and got to have some quality family time. The picture of Sadie with her Aunt Hannah is precious!

  2. She is soooooo precious and beautiful! Oh my goodness! I could stare at that last picture all day.
You look so great!! How are you feeling? 🙂
And in that Starbucks pic, is that the new Halloween drink? How was it? I read the description and I couldn’t tell if it sounded good or just really strange. So I’m very intrigued! Ha, ha.

    1. Thank you so much, Nicole! I am feeling pretty good… MUCH more like myself now that we’ve hit the six week mark!

That was the Halloween drink! It was… interesting. It was an orange flavored drink, but it was purple! Not bad, though!

  3. That picture of her with your dad is just precious. Wow- what a sweet moment. And by the look on Sadie’s face I don’t think she’s too thrilled about the idea of nursing school- lol!! Thanks for your update, Allie. Hope this weekend is off to a great start!

    1. That’s one of my absolute favorite pictures! It’s just so sweet seeing my parents with Sadie. It’s truly like the circle of life! I hope you and DJ get to experience it some day (if you desire that, of course!) because it’s SUCH a cool, beautiful, amazing thing!

Oh yeah, Sadie is totally giving the stink eye to nursing school and I don’t blame her one bit!

  4. Oh my gosh, Sadie is just so teeny tiny & adorable!!! How is she already so photogenic?!

Starbucks over Dunkin’, always! I am with youuu!! But, that Witch frappucino… how was it?!

The wedding looks & sounds beautiful. ♡ Hope you are having an awesome week!!

  5. My goodness, Sadie is just too cute!! She’s so super photogenic already! ❤ Also, I'm absolutely the same way with weddings. It's funny because I never used to cry or feel overly emotional other than just happy for the couple, but since getting married myself, I start crying every time, haha!
Ooh how was that witch's frappe? I saw that and wasn't sure how it would actually taste… Hopefully it was good!

    1. Thank you so much, Courtney! YES to being emotional at weddings! I’ve had the same experience as you with being crazy emotional after being married. It’s like you know the joy that’s ahead and it has you thinking back on your wedding day and man, it’s just special!

The frap was interesting! It was purple, but orange flavored… but not horrible!!

      1. Exactly!! You put it so well. That’s definitely what makes me so emotional haha. It’s just so wonderful and lovely and exciting…and a sacred moment too. ❤

Hmm I feel like that drink would totally mess with me since the colors/flavors don't match up haha!
