I have to admit that this past week I felt off.

I’m chalking it up to coming home from vacation and jumping back into life really fast. I had to work the morning after I came back (I know.. i’m such a baby!) and I was in vacation bible school skits + working in the nursery every night at my church from 6:50-9:00. I also had a really long day shuffling in and out of various doctors offices on Tuesday for my knee. (I will seriously post the update as soon as I get the result in the mail!)

I also blame it on not staying close to God. I was at church every night but hardly had time to read more than one chapter of my Bible or pray for more than 20 minutes at a time and it really effected me and my attitude. I found myself feeling sad and upset for no reason various time during the week.

So now that I have caught up with some Bible reading and prayer the past few days I feel 100x better because I reconnected with God the way I should everyday.

It feels good to admit that no, I don’t always keep up with my spiritual life like I know I should but yes, I am trying my best 🙂 .. I love how honest other bloggers are .. it inspires me to talk about any issues I have because I know I’ll be supported by all of you amazing friends!

  1. Hey, this is my first time really commenting but we read a lot of the same blogs so yeah :). I love the pics of the food, especially those muffins, they look super yummy and I like to bake too! Sounds like you’re super busy between VBS, work, doctor’s offices, etc… and yeah, it’s hard to stay close to God yourself sometimes when you’re so busy doing things like VBS where you’re leading or helping or something like that rather than being there just to worship. I was a student leader in my college ministry and it was so different going from being there just to worship, get close to God, and have a good time, to going to the other side and dealing with drama or the stresses of leading, etc. It definitely takes a toll. Hopefully next week will be better and you can get into the swing of things… and by the way the pics look, you guys had an awesome cruise too!

  2. That’s the beauty of the blogging world, you can admit to the things you worry about being judged for, only to find out that it’s no big deal, we all do it 😀

  3. Those muffins look SUPER good!! As does that chili. YUM!!

So glad you are back on track with the Lord–it’s amazing how much better we feel after prayer!!

  4. Those muffins look amazing – what a great flavor combo – I never would have thought of that! Glad you were able to use your blog to get that off your mind – that’s what blogs are for 🙂

  5. We can’t be perfect all the time, but as long as we try and don’t forget about the important things, life is going into the right direction. I only feel well and grounded when spirituality is a part of my life as well, and I suffer when I’m so busy that the things that mean a lot to me take a backseat, so in such times, it’s especially important to focus and *take* some time for them (even or especially when you feel you have none). You seem to be on a good way, and you’re guided. 🙂

  6. I’m the same way, whenever I’m not in sync with God, I always feel kinda off. So glad you’re getting back in the routine of things and getting to spend more time in God’s word 🙂
You’re a cooking queen, I wish I had your kitchen skills!!

  7. The muffins look so yummy and love kale chips!

Honesty is always the best 🙂 Glad you are feeling more your self now getting off a schedule of how you normally live your life is def very mood affecting.

  8. I’m glad you shared this with us! Being honest is extremely cleansing and sharing what’s on your mind/what’s bothering you is also such a huge weight off your shoulders. 🙂

  9. That’s what I love about the blogging world – I can admit things that make me feel bad or a little crazy and all I get is supportive comments. 🙂 Hope you’re feeling a bit more balanced today – smile!

  10. I think it happens to a lot of us who lead busy lives. Sometimes we get caught up and lose touch with ourselves. I think the trick is catching ourselves and knowing when we’re “off” so we can get back on track!

I get nervous about being honest or too personal on my blog as well, but each time I’ve done it I haven’t regretted it! The blogging community is so wonderful!

  11. Closeness with God has made me so much more fulfilled and content in life. Whenever I’m not feeling so good or get anxiety about something, I know I need to just talk to Him. He has ALL the answers and He will set you right. 🙂

  12. I have always want to try to make kale chips. I feel like they would be a great healthy snack!

When it comes to spirituality, it’s your path, it’s your faith. God is always there. Sometimes we stray from Him, but He never strays from us. Never feel lonely because your are not alone. God understands our struggles, and he knows sometimes it takes us some time to come back to him. The important thing is that we DO come back. Good luck on your journey. If you ever want to talk or vent or anything, shoot me an email ❤

  13. holy cow girl, you make foods right up my alley! kale chips and veggie chili, yes please:) it’s great that you’re able to admit to yourself (and the world!) about your spirtuality and honestly I think that just makes you that much closer to God anyhow. Stay in there girl, I know you know what’s best:)
