Father’s Day 2024

It was so fun to celebrate Father’s Day in the Outer Banks this year because I was able to spend the day with Jimmy and my dad!

We started our day off at Son Rise Church of Christ in Kill Devil Hills for morning worship and heard a great sermon on Philippians 2 about Christian unity.

After church, we hung out by the pool for most of the day and it was the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon! Mordecai got a little more brave with the pool–yay!

I used Mordecai’s nap time in the afternoon to do some recipe testing. I’m considering making red, white, and blue challah for my July bakery menu!

In the evening, we grilled chicken, steak, and fish for dinner and then the boys went to the Oregon Inlet and drove Jimmy’s truck onto the beach and went fishing. They didn’t catch any fish but saw a fox?! They said the water was warm and the beach there was really peaceful.

It was a memorable and special day with the men in my life 🖤

Our 10th Wedding Anniversary!

Somehow, Jimmy and I have been married for ten years?! How! It truly doesn’t feel like ten years has gone by since we tied the knot. What’s even more wild is that we started dating in 2008, so that would mean we’ve been together 16 years. I just turned 32-years-old, so we’ve been together half of my life!

He’s definitely my person and also one of the best people I know, period. I have definitely been blessed by the Lord with such an amazing man 🩵

We went on our honeymoon (and babymoon for Sadie!) to the Outer Banks, so it was a very full-circle moment to be back at the Outer Banks on our ten year anniversary. It also happened to be my birthday (yep, we got married on my birthday!). (more…)
