How We Spent Sadie’s Sixth Birthday

Six! It’s hard for me to believe Sadie girl is now six-years-old but here we are. She has grown into such a kind, caring, happy, and loving little girl. I’m so proud of the growth I’ve seen in her over the past year. She works so hard with her schoolwork, is kind to her little brother, and wants to be friends with everyone.

Sadie’s birthday fell in the middle of the week, so we decided to make it a family fun day by having Jimmy take off work to celebrate with us. We started the day off by baking one of Sadie’s favorite special breakfasts: cinnamon rolls!

We also had her open her gifts from us! It was so hard not to go crazy and spoil her, but I kept things pretty simple. We had recently been to a new-to-us library that had a microscope and she was glued to that thing the whole time we were there!

I knew I had to get her a microscope of her own. She also received a new Spiderman nightgown, socks, a mini backpack toy, and Mordecai gave her a Hello Kitty mug for her daily hot cocoa.

She loved everything, but especially loved the microscope! It came with many different slides, provided facts about each specimen, and even quizzed her on what she learned.

Our big outing for the day was to visit the trampoline park as a family! The trampoline park is one of Sadie’s favorite places. Mordecai? Not so much, lol. He was so scared! We only managed to grab one picture while we were at the trampoline park and it summed up Mordecai’s emotions.

Sadie, though? She had the best time! She said it was her favorite part of the day! Afterwards, she requested Blaze pizza for lunch. We picked up pizza and hung out around the house while Mordecai took his nap.

Sadie was given money to pick out a birthday gift from an out-of-state family member, so we headed to Walmart for her to pick out a gift and she melted my heart. Her first order of business was to pick out a toy for her brother and chocolate for Jimmy. Then with her leftover money she picked a baby doll (seen at the top of this post!) for herself. She’s so sweet 😭

Our last fun activity for the day was Lego Club at the library! Sadie has been to Lego Club a few times and always says she wishes Jimmy could go with us. Lego Club happened to fall on her birthday and Jimmy came and all her dreams were fulfilled! It was so sweet seeing them play together at one of her favorite places.

After Lego Club, it was time for Bible study at our church. Sadie was able to see all of her cousins and friends at church. Definitely a full and happy day for her!

It was a wonderful day celebrating our sweet girl! Jimmy and I feel so blessed God has given us sweet Sadie as our daughter and pray we can always raise her in the Lord and love her like He does.
