Happy Valentine’s Day!
Did you do anything fun to celebrate? With the holiday falling in the middle of the week, we didn’t do much but it has still been a great day!
On Tuesday, my mom came over and we did our annual Valentine’s Day challenge. She, Sadie, Mordecai, and I all drew each other’s names out of a hat and shopped for the person’s name we drew.
The papers with everyone’s names on them had prompts to fill out like “something I love about you is….,” “my favorite memory with you is….” etc. so we filled those out and then exchanged gifts. It was such a fun time!
I also squeezed in some product development! I made a batch of chocolate covered Oreos for St. Patrick’s Day and had a blast working on them.
Guess what Niva and I did this week? If you said therapy work, you were right 😉 We headed to our favorite school for a visit. We are also booked for more therapy visits at different facilities on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!
I took the kids out to Starbucks for a special Valentine’s Day treat this morning. Mordecai had “given” Sadie a Hello Kitty mug during our Valentine’s Day shopping challenge (he drew her name so I helped him pick it out 🥰) so she brought it to Starbucks and asked for a hot cocoa to be made in it.
Mordecai enjoyed a vanilla scone and mom guzzled a blonde roast coffee!
In the afternoon, Mordecai had his first experience with kinetic sand. He was leery at first but ended up loving it once he got used to it.
Mordecai laid down for his afternoon nap and Sadie followed me down to our basement so I could do laundry… and she took a tumble down the stairs. The poor thing really scraped up her back. She cried and I held her for a bit and then she fell asleep. In our basement.
I brought her back upstairs and she fell back asleep. But now Mordecai is awake so off I go!

Poor Sadie 😦 I hope she’s ok now!
I love that she got to go with you and Niva for the therapy work
She was hurting for like two days and then was totally fine! I was amazed at how quickly she bounced back!
The family photo is so sweet. Love your pink dress – what a perfect choice for Valentine’s Day!
Lewis and I didn’t do much to celebrate the day either, other than exchanging cards with sweet messages 😊
I hope you’re having lots of fun with Niva’s therapy visits this week, and I hope Sadie’s all recovered from her fall.
Thank you!!
Sometimes simple things like exchanging cards can be the best!!
Niva and I had a great time with her therapy visits this week and thankfully Sadie is all better from her tumble down the stairs! It’s amazing how quickly kids bounce back from injury. She complained of pain in her tailbone for two days and then was running around and doing just fine. If I fell down the stairs like she did I would probably be hurting for a month, haha!
I always love all your pics! I have slightly fallen down the stairs (as you know – trying to facetime from an ipad while walking down the stairs did not work for me). I have also seen Lawson fall down a complete set of stairs, which has definitely scarred me for life. You know how careful I always am with the kids going down all stairs – ugh, I’m so sorry Sadie hurt herself :(((
I’m so glad you and Ni are still going to the school – the kids LOVE her!!!
I also LOVE the St Patty’s day oreos! So festive :)))
Love you!!
