Chocolate Peanut Butter Granola

I’ve been wanting to post this recipe forever! When I began selling on Etsy, this was one of the first products I offered and was always very popular. You just can’t go wrong with the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, right?

Chocolate peanut butter granola

This is the exact recipe I used for my Etsy shop and basically tastes like a healthier, hand-held version of no bake cookies! The combination of peanut butter and sticky honey makes for big clusters of granola–my favorite type of granola.

If you’re looking for a delicious gift to give this holiday season, try making a batch of this granola (or two, so you have one for yourself šŸ˜‰) and package it in a cute bag or container. I think your gift recipient will love it!

If you’re gluten free, this recipe can be made using gluten free oats. If you’re vegan, just replace the honey with maple syrup!

Ingredients
3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
3/4 cup peanuts
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 cup oil of choice (coconut, canola, vegetable, etc.)
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup if youā€™re vegan)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
2. Combine oats, peanuts, and 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder in a large bowl.
3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine oil, honey, and peanut butter. Microwave for 35 seconds and whisk in vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder until smooth.
4. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir well, until all the dry ingredients are coated with the wet mixture.
5. Spread granola onto cookie sheets and bake for 10 minutes. Flip and bake for another 10 minutes.
6. Cool granola on cookie sheets for about an hour and store in a sealed container for up to six months. Enjoy!

    1. Oh man! I don’t know how you survive!! One of my biggest fears with having kids was that they would be allergic to peanut butter because it’s one of my absolute favorite foods, LOL. I was like “what if I have to give up peanut butter?! I don’t know if I can do it!!” Thankfully I didn’t have to find out šŸ˜‚

Alternatively, you could use sunflower seed butter and sunflowers in the recipe… but I suppose that negates the peanut butter aspect of it. Could be worth a try!

  1. This looks so delicious! šŸ™‚ I like the idea of making it for holiday gifts too. I have a large family and Christmas can be an expensive time, so I’m always interested in ways to budget and give thoughtful, homemade gifts. One question about the recipe: do you use whole roasted peanuts? And are they salted or unsalted?

    1. Thank you, Grace! It is definitely a well-received gift in my experience haha. I use dry roasted peanuts and sometimes I chop them and sometimes I leave them whole. The recipe is very forgiving in that way!!
