All The Reasons I Haven’t Blogged in A Few Days

According to WordPress it has been about four days since I last posted and I’ve been busy with so much summer fun and just life stuff that I haven’t been here on the blog.

I thought it would be fun to share the pictures of why I haven’t been here the past couple of days!

Toddler fishing

–> My parents took Sadie fishing! So I ran around the house like a wild woman and vacuumed, worked, and tried to catch up on things that are hard to do with a toddler underfoot.

Husky and toddler in bed together

–> I’m tired! Sadie has been doing this thing where she wakes up at 3:00 am and walks runs around the house, lays on the couch with Niva, or brings Niva into her bed.

There have been many walks down the hallway hand-in-hand with Sadie back to her room while I try to explain that it’s still dark, she should still be sleeping, and then begging her to pleaseeeee just stay in bed 😂

Gluten free chocolate cookies

–> Etsy shop additions! Along with granola, the shop now features challah and gluten free cookies. Basically, I’ve been busy baking, fulfilling orders, going to the post office, and eating lots of cookie dough 😬

Mom and toddler swimming in pool

–> We took Sadie swimming! This was our first dip in a pool together this summer and it was glorious. We went to my in-law’s house last night and their neighbor let us swim in their pool. Sadie was jumping in and kicking away! It was awesome to see our cautious child be kinda brave in the water.

See the dog in the background? She’s a Newfoundland and weighs 143 pounds. I think she was the most gentle dog I’ve ever met and I’m officially adding newfies to my list of dog breeds I want to own one day (along with Irish Setters, English Setters, Springer Spaniels, Labradors, Bernese Mountain Dogs, aaand… I’ll stop before I just name every dog breed).

Toddler and husky on trail in Pittsburgh

–> Trail walks with Sadie and Niva! We have a wonderful trail near our house and I’ve been taking the two of them on walks as much as possible. I love those early morning walks and hearing the gravel crunch under my feet.

Toddler and husky standing in creek

–> Splashing in the creek! The aforementioned trail has a creek that runs alongside it, so we have been spending a lot of time in that creek. Niva doesn’t care about water but Sadie is *into* it.

I think those are most of the reasons I haven’t blogged in a few days. All good, but I missed this space! I’ll be back soon with a currently post for July! Also, how is it July tomorrow?!

What have you been up to lately?

  1. Aw the 3:00 am wakeups sound tough! I hope she grows out of that habit soon.

Haha you sound like me with wanting every sort of dog. I’d love a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever — they look beautiful and they’re a medium-sized dog, slightly smaller than a Labrador (I had 2 Labs when I was growing up). But they’re super-rare in the UK and anyway, I’m too busy to think about getting another dog at the moment. But I can dream…

Glad you’re all enjoying so much outdoor time. You both look like you’re having so much fun in the pool pic 🙂

    1. It was definitely a flashback to the newborn days to be up so early, haha!!

I’m glad I’m not the only person who wants to own every kind of dog breed. I have seen pictures of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retrievers and always thought they were gorgeous, too!! Maybe one day you will have one!!

  2. That creek is perfect! What a great spot for exploring!

And swimming! So fun! So glad Sadie had such a fun time.

I feel for you with the night time wake ups. Those are so hard!
