My bridal shower was on Saturday and it was absolutely amazing! Around 60 friends and family members celebrated the fact that Jimmy and I are getting married. It. Was. So. Awesome.
My mom and sister did pretty much all of the planning for my special day, and they did such a wonderful job. We ate delicious food and cake, played fun games, laughed a lot, and there was an epic surprise at the end. Here are some pictures…
The cake was made by Spinola’s Bake Shop!
Each guest was given glass coasters as a favor and everyone filled out marriage advice cards for my to read. Some made me laugh so hard! My mom also ordered a vase that everyone signed. We baked it in the oven (to seal the signatures) and I can’t wait to use it in my future home!
The table decoration that Hannah created.
A table full of gift baskets that my mom, future mother-in-law, aunt, sister, and sister-in-law made for guests to win. My favorite was the Dunkin’ Donuts-themed gift basket!
All of the guests played a game that tested how well they know Jimmy and I. Everyone got a sheet of paper with 24 questions about us, and whoever answered the most right got a prize. My future mother-in-law got the most right, followed by my best friend, and then two of my teenage neighbors, haha!
I have never opened so many gifts in my life. I feel so incredibly blessed. One woman from my church hand-stitched a quilt for Jimmy and I with our initials in a heart. I love it so much! My neighbor painted a gardening pot and wrote a poem about how love grows, and my good friend Kim made us cookies!
I received a memory box filled with pictures and memorabilia from a childhood friend and the sweetest letter from Hannah that almost made me dinosaur cry until I stopped reading it and saved it for later. I also received some lingerie, which made me turn 50 shades of
After opening gifts, Hannah quizzed me on how well I know Jimmy. She asked me what his favorite food is (steak), his favorite car (BMW M3), and if I remembered where we shared our first kiss (on my doorstep).
The last question she asked me was when Jimmy last gave me flowers. I said October. Hannah told me I was wrong and I looked up to see Jimmy walking towards me with a dozen roses. Then I was like “Or right now…!”
The roses had a sign in them that said “I love you because…” and each rose had a tag attached to it with a reason why Jimmy loves me. So I read them. They were so sweet and so is Jimmy.
Here’s what they said…
I love you because… you’re loving…you’re beautiful…you always try your best…you have luscious locks of golden hair (hahaha)… you’re an incredibly hard worker… you put others first… you feed me… you love God… you believe in me… you love me… you trust me… and you could probably beat me up if you wanted… but you don’t (<– my favorite LOL).
It was such a perfect day. I felt so loved and happy to be surrounded by my friends and family. Though I didn’t think it was possible, I’m even more excited to marry Jimmy!!
