A day in the life of my sister

Hola! I’m welcoming my younger sister, Hannah, to the blog. Since it seemed like a lot of people were interested in reading about a day in my mom’s life, I thought it would be fun to have Hannah share her “typical” Monday!

Hannah

Some background on Hannah: She’s 15-years-old, and in 10th grade at a local Christian school. She runs track, is active in our church, and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She is also one of the funniest people I know 🙂

Here’s Hannah!

6:00-7:00 a.m.- “My alarm goes off at 6am, but I’m normally not actually ‘out of bed’ until 6:20/6:30. I probably wouldn’t even get up if my mom wasn’t consistently telling me what time it is, or throwing Brandy (my puppy) onto the bed.”

“Once I finally roll out of bed, I head to the bathroom and wash my face. I then go back to my bedroom, get dressed, put on makeup, and do my hair. This takes me until about 6:40. Next I go out to the living room, drink some coffee, eat breakfast (which is always prepared by amazing mom), and watch TV. Today, in particular, I had a soft pretzel with cheese… I don’t like breakfast foods.”

7:10-8:00 a.m.- “When the clock strikes 7:10, I run (literally) back to the bathroom and brush my teeth. Then I strap on my backpack, grab my gym bag and lunch box, and head out to the bus, which comes at about 7:15. Melissa, my best friend and next door neighbor, and I ride the bus together to our school together. This fun time is filled with us listening to various songs, especially Ed Sheeran music. There are only about 6 or 7 people on our bus, and Melissa and I are two of them, so we tend to be the loudest (oops).”

8:00 a.m.-2:50 p.m.-  “When we arrive at school at about 8:05, it’s time to unload my backpack. Then I go through the motions: Homeroom, Biology, Gym (only Mondays and Thursdays), Bible Survey, Spanish, Yearbook, Lunch (my FAVORITE part of the day), Algebra 2, World History, and World Literature.”

2:50-4:30 p.m.-  “Once school is over at 2:50, I pack up all of my homework, and head down to the girl’s locker room to get changed for track. We run from about 3:10-4:00, and then lift weights from 4:00-4:30. After this exhausting hour and a half, my mom picks me up, and we drive home.”

“Once I get home, it’s straight to my room so I can do my chiropractor rehab exercises (I am very messed up) and I read my Bible. Currently I am reading through the whole Bible, I started this on January 1st, and I should be done by December 31st. I just recently finished the book of Mark, so I read a little summary of each book of the Bible, one I am finished with it, on my Kindle. I also tend to eat a snack while doing so.”

6:00-8:30 p.m.- “After this I go out to the living room to eat some dinner, tonight I had a chicken stir fry and Sierra Mist, it was AMAZING! By this time it is about 6:00. I then start my butt load of homework and studying.”

8:30-10:00 p.m.-  “I normally finish my homework anytime between 8:30 and 10:00. Depending on the homework load, I may or may not have time to watch TV. I usually end up watching recordings of Dancing with the Stars, The VOICE, or 19 Kids and Counting! They’re some of my favorite shows!”

“By this time I am completely exhausted, so I brush my teeth, cross off my calendar, and read my devotional. So, this is what a typical Monday consists of for me, I hope you enjoyed!”

Thanks for sharing Hannah!

I think my favorite past of this post is when she said she literally runs from the couch to brush her teeth before school. I witness this all the time, and it’s hilarious  She loves her morning couch time haha!

  1. So cool! Sounds pretty similar to my days! Actually pretty much the exact same lol. I agree with Hollie – How does Hannah not like breakfast food?!?! I guess as long as you eat something it’s okay. But seriously? No oatmeal? Pancakes? Crazy girl!!

  2. I can’t believe Hannah doesn’t like breakfast foods! But, at least she runs track and has good taste in shoes (love those shoes btw). This sounds a lot like my high school day except it was band for me, it was really fun to read this and relive those days hehe.

  3. LOL I love the fact your sister has a soft pretzel for breakfast. I can’t believe she doesn’t like breakfast foods! And I wish I had a DVR so I could watch all my favorite shows at my convenience. It would be much better!

  4. Your sister has such a busy schedule, but it seems like she still makes room for fun :).
I’m an early riser now, but I used to hate waking up at 6 AM in order to be ready to take the bus to school (waiting out in the cold was the worst…). But things were better after being able to drive myself senior year 😉

  5. Hannah is such a cutie! You guys are lucky to have each other. 🙂 Sounds like her days are full and good. Love that she is reading the Bible this year. I learn so much every time I read it. It’s amazing which things I read differently as I grow and change. Also, I love 19 Kids and Counting! 🙂

  6. I know this post is a few days old, but I just had to comment to say how awesome I think you are, Hannah! I’m super impressed how you manage to balance school (woohoo for keeping an awesome GPA!), track, and your faith. Way to go, girl!!!
